My Actifit Report Card: May 22 2020

in Actifit6 years ago

Body did not want to get up but it had to. Had booked a young man to come wash my car and he was on time. My car lives outside and is always looking bad - not today.

Walked to coffee shop with my wife in a gap in her meetings. She was photographer as my phone was dead. Her theme was colour. We live in an old suburb which has lots of non-native deciduous trees. Autumn becomes a special time for colour

We had a heavy rain shower overnight - in this street the rain flow has left a path of leaves in the roadway away from the kerb

Also a lot of camelias which make for carpets of colour.

Yesterday, we spied a stag horn starting its life up a tree. Today we found one that is starting a 2nd life out of the dried remnants of its 1st life.

Autumn is also the start of moss and lichen season.

The damper sections of our lawn have already been overtaken by moss.

Camelia season is great for the rainbow lorikeets who are both nectar and seed eaters. Not a lot of nectar in each fried egg flower. Lorikeets flits from one flower to the next. Here caught in action just departing one flower

We planned to travel up to the Hunter Valley for weekend with a view to leaving as soon as my wife's meetings for the day were over. I pushed myself to make a video for my membership site sales page. It took 3 or 4 goes. Normally I just bang them out. 1st iteration got disturbed by cooking alarm for my wife's lunch effort. 2nd iteration ran into technical problems. As soon as I snipped off some stuff at front of the recording, I lost all audio. Was able to recreate the error. Diagnosis correct - the audio switch was in the bit being edited out. Google Search gave me a clue - I had recorded with System Audio off. Fixed that and recording worked and I got the video made in one more pass with no editing needed. Uploaded to AWS so I could work on it at the weekend.

No wonder I wrote a blog post about No Technical Experience Needed this week. This stuff is easy until it gets hard

We did get on the road at 3:45. Nice to catch a sunset view at Brunkerville coming down from Watagan Mountains on what was a grey day all day.

Plans had been to buy Thai takeaway for dinner. My wife drove straight past the restaurant without stopping = replanned dinner to make barbecue with what we had.

It was special being outside listening to the quiet of country life and warm in front of the barbecue on a chilly autumn night.

Another fresh meal with Spanish style chicken and beef sausages while my wife did veges.

We are lucky we can still shop and buy booze and now travel to our other home in lockdown times. The pictures and stories are for those who cannot do the same. Enjoy - you will soon be back

True statement! Nice post. Easy read. Thank you.

I have been an IT geek since university in the 70s. A lot has improved but a lot is still the same - some deep technical switch hidden from plain view.
