Explosion Los Angeles

so today I was showing a friend how he can see a little bit of the ocean from the backyard and all the sudden we saw an explosion and plumes of smoke. still don't know what it is yet but thought it was probably an oil tanker Catching Fire on the coast. Will probably Google it later but so far nothing. crazy to be staring at the ocean from afar when something like this happens
