Agro innovators product stall

Today I share with you about our innovative product stall which was organized by Agri Innovators, 2016/2017 Agribusiness management batch, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Management on 15th March 2022 at the university main gate premises.

Many food items, beverages, ready to eat products, ready to cook products and other innovative products were sold there. The Vice chancellor of the university, Assistant registrar of the university, Department head, Department of Agribusiness Management, Prof Achini De Silva Madam, Subject coordinator Mrs. Ruvini Basnayaka and lecturers of the faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Management were attended to the event as guests.

The main aim of the event was to give a different marketing experience to students. In addition, all the innovative products were very well exposed to the people at the stall and a good comment was given to the products.
lot of good comments as well as suggestions were received by us from lecturers, village people and university students. Eleven innovative products including food items and an organic fertilize were ready to kept for the stall. More than gaining a profit from the stall, our objective was to learn the marketing process of a new product before lounging to the market and the way that we should make it ready to sell in the market.

Students got a chance to think beyond the frame about marketing mix of each product. In addition, several snacks and beverages were ready as a strategy to attract customers to the stall. Few simple gams were organized to make the event entertaining and more attractive. Those games were played by many customers and gifts were won by them.

A counter was arranged for the financial purposes of the stall. Customers were surprised and very happy about the innovative products we sold there. Many questions were asked by them before purchasing some products. An additional knowledge and experience were gained by students when explaining and answering to consumer problems. Many ideas were collected by students for their product development hope to be done in the future. The main aims of the Agri Innovators stall were seemed success. Improvements needed for each product were understood by students through consumer comments, especially comments given by lecturers of the university. Agri Innovators were successful in the stall they did and we all hope to do more in the future with our own products.
