SEC17/W2| While making decisions, what do you prefer to follow: heart or mind?
Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon to all friends of the Incredible India community. It is the second week of the season 17 engagement challenge and I am happy to share ideas following the topic “what do you prefer to follow: heart or mind?”.
My discussion will focus on the following guiding questions and I hope you all find pleasure reading through this masterpiece.
What is your preference while making decisions, heart or mind?
In life we all have moments we are challenged to take decisions to either proceed with our actions or take a step back. In all, the mind and the heart plays a vital role in decision making. This also depends on the scenario and the personality in question.
The mind plays the role of critical analysis bringing every single factor into consideration. After the mind analyses, the reasoning faculty sets in weighing on the best possible options. Then the heart brings intuition and has great impact on emotions.
In all, I will say I go with both my mind and heart when I’m taking a decision. Notwithstanding, it all depends on the circumstances leading to the decision. Considering both mind and heart in decision making is vital because both has great influence on our decision making.
Do you think we need both in terms of making decisions? Describe reasons.
Of course, as I earlier mentioned, both the mind and the heart plays a vital role in our decision making journey. It is logical in the sense that our mind do the critical analysis and weighing options.
The heart brings up instincts and emotional reasoning. Again, I said it all also depends on a scenario and your goals. It might be a situation that demands the heart to take the decision without considering the mind.
Are you an emotional or a practical person in real life?
I am rather a realist hehehehe🤓. I hardly go emotional in life. I always like to accept the situation as it comes and faced my challenges.
However, there are moments when pushed to the wall that I go emotional. This goes with the adage that “…When a goat is pushed to the wall consistently, it can as well bite in retaliation…”
Do you have any suggestions for youth which one they should follow in their day-to-day lives?
I Will suggest youths to follow both the mind and the heart in taking decisions in their lives because both has a great role to play with decision making.
However, this should depend on the scenario or circumstances leading to the decision making. When it requires the heart to make the right decision, do not hesitate to take the bold step and when it requires the mind to do it, do not hesitate.
In sum, “when life gives you lemon, use it and produce lemonade and drink”. At this juncture, I will invite @saxopedia, @rafk, @pandora2010 and @josepha to share ideas regarding the topic for this week’s challenge.

Dear friend its happy to know you are realistic person and listen the heart voice and focued on brain too. Obvidously ot depends on the circumstances too in which we have to make decision.

আমিও মনে করি একজন মানুষকে সর্ব অবস্থায় সর্ব কিছুর জন্যই মানসিক ও শারীরিকভাবে প্রস্তুতি নিয়ে রাখা উচিত।
এর কারণ হলো সব সময় সবকিছু আমাদের মত করে হবেনা ।অনুকূল এবং প্রতিকূল সব ধরনের পরিবেশর সাথেই নিজেকে খাপ খায়িয়ে চলতে হবে।
