The Diary Game [16/12/2025] // Hustle, Love, and Christmas Fever in Cameroon.

Hi guys, compliments of the season to @everyone and welcome to my blog where I share my daily lifestyle content with you all.

The rooster had not yet found its voice when my day began. I rose quietly from bed, my bones already aware of the long hours ahead. In this busy season, December does not forgive laziness. Christmas fever is everywhere in Cameroon, and even the air feels rushed. I washed up quickly and moved straight to the kitchen. Fire on, pot on, and mind racing, I woke the children, urging them gently but firmly, school would not wait. Their uniforms were ironed, bags checked, and shoes dusted. As they brushed their teeth, I prepared a simple but warm breakfast to strengthen them for the early school run. By the time the sun showed its first light, we were already on the move.

After dropping them off, I headed to work. The office was lively, everyone talking about Christmas plans, clothes, food, and travel. Yet my own mind was full of responsibilities. During office hours, I asked for permission and rushed to the city council to pay the second instalment of my children’s school fees. The line was long, and time was moving fast, but I stood patiently.

A mother’s duty does not complain. With the receipt safely tucked in my bag, I made another stop at a nearby shop to buy Christmas party gifts for the kids. Their school had asked parents to submit gifts early, and I did not want my children left out.

From the shop, I went straight to the school. I handed over the bank receipt and carefully registered the Christmas gifts before giving them to the head teacher. Seeing the school compound filled with decorations and laughter reminded me that despite the struggle, joy still lives in simple moments.

By then, the afternoon had stretched far. Tired and hungry, I returned to the office only to realize it was best to call it a day and head home.

At home, there was no rest yet. I tied my wrapper, entered the kitchen, and cooked dinner. The smell of food filled the house, calming my tired spirit. Then came a surprise that lifted my heart, a friend stopped by with a gift, a Chelsea jersey. I smiled like a child. Such kindness can brighten even the most exhausting day.

After dinner, a plate of hot ogbono soup with soft fufu, I felt whole again. I later relaxed with an apple to help digest while watching Chelsea vs Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.

What an evening to crown the day. As I sat there, tired but grateful, I reminded myself that tomorrow would bring another hustle. For now, I rest, thankful for life, strength, and the joy of the festive season in good health. Until my next diary guys, it is good night at my end.
