STEEMCHURCH: PROTECT YOUR MIND
There are people whose mind are like an open field that anyone (or animal, for that matter) can go through and drop unwanted seed. When you leave your mind open this way, any worthless seed can be thrown in it and it will grow. It's your spirit that the Bible describes as a field, not your mind. And because your spirit is only accessible through your mind which is the door to your spirit, nothing can get in there that you don't first allow in your mind.
That's why the Lord instructs us: "Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life" (Proverb 4:23)
The word, "Keep", used in the scripture is the is the used in Genesis 2:15 "And the Lord God took the man and pit him into the garden of Eden to dress it and keep it" It doesn't suggest putting or separating the garden away to somewhere safe. It actually implies taking care of it in a protective way and ensuring it's security against external aggressor.
The Good News Bible translation puts it clear. It says "the Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and guard it". The word "Guard" has a military connotation, which suggests protecting from attack or maintaining in safety from danger.
You will agree that if there is no enemy or adversary, there wouldn't be any need to guard any thing that belongs to you against an attacker. Truth is, there is an adversary, and that's why the Lord instructs you to keep or guard your heart with all diligence.
Have you ever heard someone say, i was barred from joining the team"? It means he was prevented, kept out, blocked, or disallowed from joining the team. That's how the Bible tells you to guard your heart, by barring all thoughts that are not consistent with God's Word.
Now, this doesn't sound like evil thought are originating from you, does it? What is simply shows is that there is a devil out there trying to send the wrong thoughts into your heart (through your mind). So you are admonished to bar his evil thoughts and banish his wayward words.
If someone says something to you that challenges God's Word, bar it from your mind! Dont try to accommodate it or reason it out. The Bible says to guard your heart with all diligence, so you must recognise that God is not going to guard your heart for you. The responsibility is yours. But the good news is that you are not helpless as what to do. You have been equipped with the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:11), and what you need to do is put it on and never take it off! With your armour in place, you will be able to bar every evil thought or idea against God's Word that tries to assault your mind.

Thats very true, thanks alot i really appreciate
When we put the mind under the sovereign power of Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God restores it, frees it from the power of Satan, captivates it again (2 Corinthians 10.5), and records its law in it (Hebrews 10.16). My whole being-soul, body and soul-is called to worship God (Mark 12.30).
Thanks for your contribution
Great insight @charleswealth. I want to add here that to protect the mind, we need to secure the mind-gates- the ears and eyes. What we see and what we hear are instrumental to what thoughts breed in our minds. God will help us. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks alot, i really appreciate your comment
This is inspirational.
We need to be careful of what we allow to dominate our mind.
We can control what stay there and we can trash those things that won't add value to our life or destiny.
Thanks alot, i really appreciate your contribution..... Once again thanks

Thanks for sharing this wonderful topic....@charleswealth
We should be careful on the kind of thought that goes inside our mind.......
The bible says "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh"
What one becomes is as a result of what you allowed to dwell there.
I appreciate your contribution
Wow! What a nicely written post, with such a fine message.
Like you said, there is an adversary that is roaming about, who's not slack to attack or capitalise on any loophole. The reason why we need to perpetually guide our hearts (minds) with all diligence, and constantly renewing our mind with God's word.
Thanks for sharing @charleswealth.
Kind regards.
