Palacio Real de Madrid

Today I want to share with you my visit to the Royal Palace of Madrid. I was able to immerse myself in the rich history and culture of Spain. I can say that this palace is one of the most beautiful and best preserved that I have visited.

The palace is one of the few residences of heads of state that are open to visitors. The building is the active residence of the King of Spain and is still used for state ceremonies and events.

These rooms were used as bedrooms by the royal family. The interior is lavishly decorated with tapestries on the walls, and the furniture is a work of art.

The murals in the corridors were religious in theme, featuring scenes from the lives of various saints.

Members of the royal family, including kings and queens of the Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties, are buried here. The Pantheon contains marble sarcophagi and orders of deceased monarchs.

The octagonal mausoleum contains the tombs of the kings and queens of Spain and their wives who were parents of kings, from Emperor Charles V onwards.

Burial of D. Juan de Austria, natural son of Charles I and half-brother, therefore, of Philip II.

Facade of the basilica

The basilica is a masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture. It impressed me with the deep and enchanting sound of the organ and the combination of purity and a magnetic altar.

I sat down for a moment to enjoy the melody. Everything here is designed to exude grandeur, but without unnecessary ostentation.

As a connoisseur of art and history, I was fascinated and inspired by the visit of this woodcutter. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore the richness and complexity of Spanish culture.

Thanks @solperez :)

yes, that´s really a stunning place I´ve been there several times in the last 15 years, because parts of the family are from there, less than 10 minutes away from the palace.

Maybe you should have placed this post in Steem-Atlas with some additional words to the entry prices, the opening hours, might be worth it 😎

I'm glad you've been to this place too. I was thinking of adding information about prices and opening hours, but I thought it would be boring :) (And maybe it would be useful for everyone planning a visit). I'll try to include these details in future posts 😊
