Homemade Burgers with Beer Onions
First I ground sirloin steak in my kitchen aid meat grinder, you want to choose a meat with a good amount of fat to make the burgers juicy. Formed into patties and set in the freezer for 10 minutes to firm up.
Then I cut Spanish onions into julienne slices and put it into a pot with corona, brown sugar, ketchup, salt, pepper and let carmalized on a simmer for 20 minutes.
Then I seared the patties in canola oil for about 3 minutes on each side seasoned with sea salt and pepper.
Toasted the buns with butter and cut lettuce and tomatoes and made a chipotle aiole sauce and assembled everything together. Nothing better than homemade burgers!!

Wow, caramelized onions make a huge difference! I live near a famous onion growing area in Japan, and a local burger shack reduces sacks of them down to a compote that is heavenly! Keep up the posts and I will take a pic of that burger next visit! Followed!
Very cool! Thanks for stopping by I followed you back!
