Birding in lockdown 🐦 🐤
In this corona pandemic lockdown period, several birds I captured in my camera. Some birds were repeated but few birds I captured in my camera 1st time.
Here I want to share information about two birds I captured 1st time.
Oriental Magpie Robin which is also called काली सुई चिड़िया अथवा दहियर. Their main food is insects but sometimes also hunt lizard and fishes.
After capturing this bird I searched for more information about this.
According to Wikipedia-
is a small passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family. but now considered an Old World flycatcher. They are distinctive black and white birds with a long tail that is held upright as they forage on the ground or perch conspicuously. Occurring across most of the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia, they are common birds in urban gardens as well as forests. They are particularly well known for their songs and were once popular as cagebirds. The oriental magpie-robin is the national bird of Bangladesh.
Common hawk-cuckoo (पपीहा)
Common hawk-cuckoo, also called पपीहा in Hindi.
This bird is mainly found in South Asia. It looks like shikhara. Its way of sitting and flying is also exactly like Shikara. This is the reason it is called Common Hawk-Cuckoo in English.
The sound of this bird is very melodious.
I hope you find this info interesting!
