A kidney has a lot of functions in the human body which are.
The kidney servers as an organ which is responsible for the removal of waste products from the urine and blood.
The kidney also takes charge in controlling the levels of many substances in the blood which can lead to infection or disease.
Our kidney also have a great function which is to also maintain the proper balance of the body fluids.
The kidney also releases hormones which helps in controlling or regulating our blood pressure.
The kidney also control the production of the red blood cells in humans and animals.

They are two main structures of the kidney which are.
The outer renal cortex.
The inner renal medulla.
THE OUTER RENAL CORTEX
The outer cortex is known as the outer layer or the covering of many organs in the body. Therefore the cortex is the out layer of the kidney which is also seen as the kidney cortex.
THE INNER RENAL MEDULLA
The medulla is the known as the inner part of the kidney, it possess a cone-shaped renal pyramid that consists of the blood vessels and the tubular structures of the nephrons. It also consists of the vasa recta and interstitium. It is mainly responsible for the filtration of water to become urine.
Functions of the kidney
The kidney helps to remove waste products from our cells and blood which can be harmful to us if not out of our immune system. The kidney also servers as the organ which helps man to urinate.
The kidney helps in the production of the blood vessels and helps to lower ones blood sugar. I will urge everyone to make sure our kidney is in a good state to avoid kidney failure.
