My Town In 10 Pictures.
Our first stop is Faculty of Law, Abia State University, Umuahia Location. Take a look at the ultra modern structure below:
The structure comprises five large air-conditioned lecture halls for both the undergraduate and post graduate students. many offices for both academic and non-academic staff, Moot Court etc
Let me also tell you that there are two Faculties in Umuahia Location: the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. Take a look at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences below:
As we moved towards Umuahia main town from ABSU we stopped by the famous Fisher High School now Government College Umuahia. The school is under renovation. So many fine buildings have built inside. We took a picture of the gate of the school. Take a look at it.
From here we drove to the ever busy Ahia Eke Junction. Ahia Eke Junction also lies along Ikot Ekpene - Umuahia Road. It connects Lodu and Bende Road Umuahia. There is always serious traffic jam here. Take a look at the picture of the place.
We drove towards the heart of Umuahia City. There we were able to capture the tower at the center of Umuahia. It is located at Umuwaya, Bende Road and Railway Station Round About. Take a look at the picture below:
At the above named round about we turned and drove towards Queen Elizabeth Hospital Umuahia, now known as, Federal Medical Center (FMC), when we got to the popular Umudike Junction heading to FMC gate we were held up in the traffic for about 10 minutes. We continued when traffic eased. Take a look at Umudike Junction Umuahia.
This junction connects Abia State and Akwa Ibom State .
Finally we got to the FMC Umuahia. FMC is along Aba Road . It's one of the health Institutions in the State for treatment when we fall sick. Take a look at the front view of the hospital.
We continued towards Ubakala Express Junction on our way back to Aba. The express way connects Port Harcourt and Enugu. Take a look at the picture of Ubakala Express Junction.
On our way back we passed two Army Check points. The first is the Isiala Ngwa Junction check point where we were flagged down for routine check. It was difficult to take full picture but we hid our camera and managed to capture what the scene always look like thereby minimizing clashing with the soldiers over this. Take a look at what we could capture in picture.
After our vehicle was inspected we were asked to move on. At Umuukea junction we met another Army check point. We were not halted for inspection but I could not take full photo of the place because the soldiers frown at it. Take a look at the much we could get.
Conclusion
Thank you for enjoying the tour to Umuahia and back to Aba. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you.
Thanks for taking us round umuahia, but you should have gotten us the banana at one of the junctions to make our ride more interesting
I now know that the roundabout links Abia with Akwa Ibom state, I'll come over soonest
Am expecting you. You will have a lot of it when come.
Sure... thanks
Uwc
You has an awesome tour, umuahia is indeed beautiful, there are a lot to snap there, thanks for the interesting pictures.
It's beautiful indeed. Don't forget that it is our seat of power o.
I really enjoyed the tour sir @chikaeli. The Law faculty is really a large complex. I am really impressed that it even has air-conditioned lecture halls. That would be a conducive environment for learning. I have passed Abia tower before, but its like they did some work on it recently. Its looking great now.
Law Faculty has the most condusive classrooms in ABSU. The tower was renovated recently.
Waooh sir @chikaeli. That is most fitting, given the high esteem that law is generally held. I would like to do a tour of the facilities someday if it is allowed.
@focusnow you are quite free.it is public place.
It has to be because that's the faculty where most of the occupants of the seat of power in the state are. They wouldn't like to stay in uncondusive environment to learn.
@luchyl not so actually. The reason is that the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Nigeria Council of Legal Education requires the Faculties of Law in Nigeria to be well equipped for it to be accredited and to increase their quota. ABSU law Faculty needs quote increment so as to admit more candidates that's why.
