Kano state is my favourite city in my country, Nigeria, It is a city in the northern part of Nigeria; it is known and referred to as the centre of commerce. It is a big trading state that people come from regions to patronize, especially its textile market called Kantin Kwuri market, also the Kufaru Market, where Car spare parts and plumbing materials are sold. There is also another big market where agricultural products are sold because the state is an agricultural producing known for producing crops like groundnut, millet, tubers, sorghum, and fruits and vegetables like onions, tomatoes, pepper etc.

It has a fertile soil, and that has made agricultural products have a great yield. I like this city because it is a place where anyone can survive, there are job opportunities, and various trades and businesses are available for anyone to venture into. The government also provides incentives to support local business owners.

Have you ever lived there, or do you just love visiting?

Yes, I have lived there, in fact, from birth until a few years ago when I relocated to my current base. I also love visiting Kano City once in a while when there is a need for it. Living there has taught me that life could be so easy to live; it exposed and connected me to people of different states, tribes, cultures and lifestyles. This is so because the state accommodates lots of people from different parts of the country. It is the second largest populated state in the country after Lagos.

The Hausa language is the predominant language spoken in the state, but other local languages of non-indigent are spoken, so if you are interested, you can learn; I took advantage and learnt some of my friend's local dialect. It is a very beautiful experience to live there; I feel so at home in that city.

Are there any tourist attractions in your favorite city? If yes then tell us about them.

Yes there are lots of tourist attractions in Kano such as the

Kano Zoo This is an interesting place to visit; it has lots of animals in it. When I was in primary school, we visited the Zoo several times, I had the opportunity to see lots of animals physically. It is an interesting place to visit.

Tiga Dam This dam has a beautiful environment where you can go for a picnic with friends and family. This dam is also an artificial source of water supply to farmers.

Bagawda Lake This is a big lake with also a lovely environment with a serene

Kano State Botanical Garden This is another serene environment to enjoy nature. It's a place one can relax and unwind. There is lots of vegetation and beautiful flowers in it; Students come there for an educational visit to study some of the flowers. You can also come and have a stroll or picnic there.

Wudil River This is an important river that serves as the irrigation system and plays a vital role in agriculture. It is best to visit this river during a dry season when the water level is safe.

Kano city wall This is an ancient wall built in the city; it surrounds the city and is seen as a defence wall to the city.

If someone visited for the first time, what is the one place they must see?

If anyone visits the city of Kano, I will advise you to visit the Emir's palace; this is the place where the emir of the city resides. It has lots of symbols of the city's cultural heritage, there are artificates of the history of the Emirates

Festivals and events of the city's local traditions are held there, which makes it a perfect place to visit and learn more about the city's cultural heritage. When you visit there, make sure to wear proper dress as it is forbidden to dress immodestly, which is an act of disrespect to the tradition of the city.

Kano City is a beautiful place to visit, and the people of Kano are accommodating. Although it has hot weather conditions, all you need to do is take a lot of water to remain hydrated.

I would invite @eveetim, @abisolami and @kinkyamiee

Wow! Great to read about your favourite city in Nigeria. While I don't like the northern part of the country, you're in love with the region. That's great, the heat nearly burnt my skin in Niger state during my service year, my colleague who was in Sokoto said she don't wish even her enemies to be in the north because of the heat. I guess it's because we're used to our area where it rains often.

Nice content, best wishes to you dear.
