My School

The name of the high school I attended is the Federal University of Technology Owerri, located in Imo State. it stands out in the state for its academic excellence, a reputable Technological School that has produced great personalities.

My worst high school experience.

I had so many experiences in my high school days that were not pleasant but the worst was when I newly got to school. I was unstable because I came in late after matriculation. I was among the last set admitted as my name came out in the Vice-Chancellor (VC) list.

The VCs list was published on a Thursday and matriculation was to be on Saturday, so it was so impromptu for me because I had already lost hope of being admitted that year. I Reside in the Northern part of the country which was a long journey down to the eastern part where my school is located.

Since I was not prepared, this came with a lot of inconvieniences and I was not prepared for school.
So I have to miss the matriculation to get well prepared before resuming fully.

On resumption to school, I joined my coursemates who had resumed school months ago only to find out that lectures were far gone. I began to work so hard to meet up, it was not funny at all. I attended tutorial classes during the day and night classes to enable me catch up. I read, I didn't sleep well, I was so stressed, and worked so hard to meet up because the examination was barely a month. It was moment of stress and strain for me.

At some point, I began to regret why I accepted the admission, Being a fresher I was told so many scary stories by older students that if I failed a course, carrying it over would make me stay extra years in school.

lesson learnt

Of course, a great lesson was learnt. I learnt that in life you have to adjust to any challenging situation that comes your way.

I put in hard work and came out strong that first semester and it was my best result throughout my 5 years in school. Other years were good but that challenging entry-level was my best.

I have to understand that, putting up resillence in all what we do is the key. Having the possibility mentality in all our dealings should be our goal. We tend to do better when faced with challenges. We up our game and become more determined to thrive.

Moreso, we don't need to regret any situation but rather make out the best out of it. I almost regretted accepting the admissions then due to circumstances surrounding it but I forged ahead and got it rolled in. At the end, it paid off for me.and also became my best semester all through my stay.
