THE WORLD RENOWNED RICE TERRACES
We praise God for an awesome experience to explore Sagada and Banaue Rice Terraces this past weekend despite the limited time.
Thank God for the physical strength to endure the different high cardio and knee challenging terrains, though mostly both uphill and downhill. Thank God for the travelling mercies for the long road trip of 11 hours going to Sagada and 10 hours heading home from Banaue.
Thank God for the safety especially during the Sumaguing Cave exploration because any moment we lose our footing on the slippery rocks can lead to serious fall. I even had cramps on our last leg when I was about to go down the gap in between two giant rocks which don't have an actual step. The water on the ground of the cave is icy and chilly.
In Banaue Rice Terraces, it's interesting to note that only two Filipino groups (including our group) were there. The rests were from Israel, Belgium, France, Switzerland and USA.
Thanks Joanne for your business in providing vehicle, safely driving for us and arranging our tours and accommodation.
I'm glad I did it sooner while I can still physically do it with my friends.
If you are planning to visit these places, I suggest you do it while you still can and be physically ready.
It's a sweat drenching, heart pumping and calories burning workout, but it is amazingly worth it. You get to see God's majestic work of arts come to life through the clear cloud and fog formations and the beautifully carved mountain ranges, hear the echoes of your voices and rolling soothing sound of streams and waterfalls and feel the cold winter breeze.
Our God is awesome, magnificent in power. And you will see the brilliant and unique engineering skills of our Ifugaos in building the world renowned rice terraces which makes you proud of being a Filipino and of our country, the scenic Philippines.
How long was the trek? Are there different treks to choose from?
Trekking may take 3-4hrs and yes! There are different treks to choose @bayanihan.
