Now it's wouldn't be nice if after reading my article on the promotional Strategies and deciding to make adequate budget and plans for promoting your goods and you don't know how to advertise to customers, create some sort of awareness to show people that you profit Truely does exist.
The Concept: ADVERTISING
The definition of advertising goes more than than just using mouth to tell customers one by one about your product. The concept also relates to spreading the word throughout to a large number of audience with the same information being communicated to all of them at the same time.
In my own definition made in my previous post here, one can simply put it that "Advertising is simply the process by which a marketer uses all possible mediums and medias to publicly create awareness that his product(whether goods or services) has entered the market and would be made available for customer's use."

Now taking from this definition I made, there are mediums which refers to the manual or physical means and then there is the media.
Channels Of Advertising
These are simply the routes through which information about your product availability is spread across an area. They are divided into two;
- The Mediums and
- The Medias
The Mediums include:
- Oral(Use of mere words)
- Speakers and sound systems
- Fliers
- Banners etc.*
While the Medias include:
- Use Of Billboards
- Radio stations
- Social Media
- Websites
- Newspapers
- Television Channels etc.
Factors To Consider When Choosing A Channel Of Advertising
It's also important to note that the choice of advertising medium to use is dependent on a few factors:
- Scale
The scale of business you oo late on is a really important factor to consider. Scale of business simply refers to how large or how small your business operates on. If you have just one hair saloon/barbershop that it's only centered on only barbing would really consider cutting expenses by using any of the Medium listed above, since the only customers he would be getting are barbers while a multi services barbing complex like the place where that offers a wide range of services like facial treatment, snooker board, manicure and pedicure would not and should not think twice about using Medias like radio advertisements, social medias, and billboards.
- Quantity Available
The quantity that would be made available once advertising yields positive results is also to be considered. You cannot go to a media house (radio/TV) and advertise your product knowing fully well that your product won't be enough to reach the new set customers.
When the quantity available is just few look to use Medium as their channel of advertising to save yourself the stress but in a situation where you the marketer had a large amount of the goods to sell, it's best that you go for the Media advertising channels. In all, your goods should never be scarce.
- Budget
This is just a question of "How Much You Can Put Into Advertising", "How Much Is In Your Pocket", "How Much You Can Afford To Loose Just To Gain In The Long-run". Budgeting involves sacrifice.
If your pocket can carry as much as using Mediaadvertising, you should not hesitate to go for it. All the same, if all your pocket can carry is only the use of Medium, you should just go for it rather than not embarking in any form of advertisement at all.
- Geographical Location.
This is as regards to the area where the market you sell your place is situated in is. Some areas are rural, underdeveloped and as such lacks interest in use of IT gadgets, the best way to advertise your products here is to use Mediums like use of mouth, fliers, banners etc.
Whole some places are urban, highly developed and IT inclined. The best form of advertising to employ in this setting is the use of Media such as social medias, television houses and billboard advertising. This gives you higher chances of sales.
Conclusion
It is easier to choose the best form of advertising to use when you have considered these factors, but it is also worthy to note that in a developing centre where business booms well, a trader who is eager to be notified more must market his product using Media for wider information spread and Medium to tell people around who are yet to know that your product exists and should give it a try. You never can tell where your most loyal customers would come from.
