Healthy Campus Activities Asides From Lectures And Reading by @chizzybahd(10% set to campusconnectng)
Greetings Steemians ♨️
Students in the quest to study heard in the university tend to over load themselves with quite alot of school stress not knowing that they are making themselves prone to mental and physical health issues. I think this post is of great importance to campus students especially those who are yet to enter or the ones that engage in academic activities more than their mind and body can carry to also understand that engaging in other activities can help to keep you fit throughout your stay in the university.
Some Activity Open For Engagement In My University
We all know that "All Works And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy". One should always make out some time after the week's stress and engage in some recreative or relaxing activities to free your mind and body to be able to also face the upcoming stress. Below are some of the activities one can engage in while in my university being the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), you can as well explore your own
-Gyration gatherings
-Bonfire gatherings
-Lawn Tennis
-Football
-Gyming
-Dancing
-Athletes
-Chess playing
-Table Tennis
-Age grade/Rotary Club
1
Gyration Clubs
This is a legal gathering of people who have a common social interest of having fun, passing time, drinking and singing merry songs. They are usually seen in the evenings where they would be dancing around in their meeting venue and unlike cultists, their own gathering in one that portrays peace. It is just what as the name implies, A Gyration Group. A common example in Nigeria is the popularly known Kegite Association.
2
Bonfire gatherings
As long as Nigerian university is concerned, every University has it's period during which Bonfire gatherings are scheduled. This gathering always starts at nights and ends early in the morning is nothing more than a social gathering for having fun. Usually tires are kept at the centre of the venue and burnt while people father around it while dancing and singing to songs being played.
3
Lawn Tennis
This is an interesting game played on a court and can only carry single (1) or double (2) players on each sides of the the court. It's a quite interesting game for people who are filled with energy.
A point is won here when the ball touches the floor in the opponent's dude of the court it when the ball touches the net in either sides of the court.
4
Football
This is widely known world wide as the most popularly enjoyed sports game played in a large field having 10 players and one keeper on the field in each team.
The aim of this game is to put the ball into the net as many times as possible using your feet.
5
Gyming
This is an activity that helps one to build up his physical body by lifting of heavy equipments. Almost every institution had provision for a gyming centre because physical fitness is quite necessary for human beings.
A continuous engagement in this activity helps to build some sort of physical confidence in stature.
6
Dancing
Dancing is a quite recreational and relaxing activity and in school people participating in it devote their time to bring improved dancers. Taking dance classes are quite relaxing and perhaps on perfection one might get to form his or her own dance crew and get paid for performing in shows while on campus, quite fun isn't it!!.
7
Athletes
These are activities that students engage in to burn fats from time to time especially on weekends. Some of the activities athletes engage in are early morning jogging, track events example 100 meters race, 200 metres, relay races etc and field events like shot put, javelin etc.
This really helps to keep one physically fit and mentally upright after all that day metabolism.
8
Chess playing
Of all these activities mentioned, playing chess from time to time helps to develop one's intellect towards problem solving.
Chess as we know it is a game which has a king, queen, knight, bishop and pons and the aim of the the game is to defeat the king because he's the key to the continuity of the game. It's a really awesome activity to engage in.
9
** Table Tennis**
This is a recreational activity that makes use of less physical energy and more of reflex actions facilitated by the brain-eye coordination. It involves only two players per set and the aim of this game is to hit the ball in such a way that is impossible for the opponent to return it to your court.
10
Age grade/Rotary Club
This is a social group formed by top notch social pillars of the university with aim to get to meet new students from time to time and in the long run get to be like family on campus, helping and supporting each other on campus especially in times of needs.
This can be quite helpful especially to students who are quite independent. Rotary club is a common example of age grade groups.
Conclusion
These are a few activities a student can engage in and still have a healthy and balanced academic life while on campus.
Remember that All Plays And No Work Makes Jack A Lazy Boy.You guys should also know that while doing this you shouldn't get too carried away with being too devoted to it that it would affect your academics as it is the primary reason why you are in school.
Also, in as much as you're being too focused on getting that certificate, also remember that the University Certificate is clearly written "In Character And In Learning", so you should try as much as possible to enjoy your stay and gain experiences and skills, it's what makes one a complete graduate.
I hope you enjoyed my little article, thanks for reading through.

Thanks you so much sir @zmoreno for the upvote and review
The workload in most Nigerian universities is always heavy sometimes, leaving little to no time left for students to engage in other activities. But with effective time management skills, students can balance education and these activities.
