Does growth hormone evening 9 o'clock begin exuberant secrete, child 8 o'clock sleep ability grows taller
Does it make sense for children to go to bed before 8:30 in the evening because they begin to secrete high concentration growth hormone at 9:00? The answer is: it doesn't make sense.

Scientists in France have studied the pattern of growth hormone secretion in people who work and rest normally and work night shifts.
In this study [1], there were 10 normal subjects who were active during the day and slept from 23:00 to 07:00, and 11 night workers who worked at night and slept from 07:00 to 15:00 during the day. The researchers measured their growth hormone every 10 minutes.
The results showed that: the normal work and rest of the people, growth hormone is in sleep soon after a strong secretion of pulse, this secretion peak accounted for about half of the total amount of growth hormone throughout the day.

For those on the night shift, the strong secretion pulse related to sleep did decrease, but the decrease was compensated by the unpredictable large individual pulse during the waking period. The total amount of growth hormone secretion within 24 hours was the same as that of normal work and rest.
Therefore, the pattern of secretion of growth hormone is not the same, but the total amount of secretion is the same.
In another study of children and adolescents [2], subjects were encouraged to go to bed after 9 p.m., and their growth hormone was measured every 20 minutes. Here is a pulse graph of growth hormone secretion in prepubertal and pubertal children.
It can also be seen from the figure that the strong pulse of growth hormone secretion mainly starts at 22:00-4:00, that is, about 1 hour after the child falls asleep, rather than at 21:00.
From these two studies, we can see that the strong pulse of growth hormone secretion is related to sleep. The pattern of strong pulse secretion is also related to the way of work and rest day and night, but it is not secreted by pinching. And no matter how it is secreted, the total amount secreted in a day is constant. There is no evidence that a child's height is related to sleep time or sleep duration.

Isn't it that you don't have to worry about the children's sleeping time? That's not true. Many organisms, including humans, have circadian clock systems, which maintain our normal sleep wake cycle and affect hormone secretion and metabolism. According to the circadian rhythm of work and rest, sleep in the dark environment, ensure enough sleep time, sleep quality and physical state are good.
Therefore, we should encourage people to work and rest according to the rule of day and night, and ensure adequate sleep time, but we don't need to worry about the influence of children's staying up late.
