United Kingdom and the NFL
Hello steemIt users. This is my first ever post on my new account apart from the introduce yourself post of course
If you know my old account chris-the-batman them I’m sure you would know that one of my first posts on the blockchain was talking about the NFL and how American football is not supported over here in the United Kingdom
So let’s begin shall we!
WHAT IS THE NFL/AMERICAN FOOTBALL
American football is a sport that is played in America and is very rare in other countries the NFL itself is a league in the United States of America NFL stands for National football league
WHY IS AMERICAN FOOTBALL NONEXISTENT HERE IN THE UK
Well one of the main reasons is of course that there isn’t a league of teams here in the UK.
Another reason is that well here in the uk we have rugby and football (soccer) which are probably the biggest sports in Britain and to us we stereotype American football as a wimp sport due to players wearing padding and protective gear however I am not one of those and I love American football.
Thankfully there is some good news for American football here in the UK this year thanks to announcements from the NFL and sport broadcasters themselves so let’s dig into what the NFL are doing to promote the game in other countries but mainly the UK 🇬🇧
Firstly as always every season the NFL comes to Britain
Yes that’s right! 8 TEAMS, 4 GAMES AND 2 STADIUMS IN LONDON
Also I’ve noticed that this season sky sports are broadcasting more NFL games on their channels for example this Upcoming Sunday 29th September there will be definitely 3 nfl games showcased
And last but certainly not least. During the upcoming season and when the London teams where confirmed fans couldn’t hope but think of a uk franchise. WHY AM I A FAN OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL
Well over the past 3-4 years I’ve started to watch the sport a little more each season and I now actually have a team I now support 😀 and in the photo above you can see a 🏈 and yes that is actually my football. I’ve never personally seen a store in Britain sell a football 🏈 at least not a proper one I wanna they sell them little ones for dogs and stuff but never a one that you can properly play with and at the price of £12 I had to get it. Despite the ball being a little bad quality with the white stripes pretty much falling off the ball literally I enjoy throwing it around and catching it and actually feel I’m pretty good at the sport for a british guy anyway 😂

It's a sport i've gotten into as well. Takes a while to learn the rules but once you get into it it's great to watch.
It’s a very good sport and it did take me a while to understand everything and I still don’t understand how the league works yet but it’s great to watch and seeing as most games start at 6pm or 9pm uk time it’s a perfect time for me to tune into the games
