Politics, Liberty and Other Fun Stuff
Steemit is something I've been hearing others in the liberty community talking about, and there seems to be an increasing amount of censorship on the more mainstream social networks, so I decided to hop on over to Steemit. I'm looking forward to contributing quality content to this community.
My name is Christine and I write primarily about whatever is currently piquing my interest in the political realm. Some examples include Second Amendment, anarcho-capitalism, cultural Marxism, Agenda 21 / 2030 Agenda, globalism, PizzaGate, current events, and the U.S. Constitution.
I do, however, enjoy posting about less serious stuff from time to time, which may include food and recipes, gardening, places I visit, and... well, whatever else I've been up to. I'm not much of a photographer, but I find that adding original photos makes things more personal and interesting.
Having escaped a big city in the desert Southwest (in the USA), I recently landed safely and happily in a small town in the Ozarks. I've spent my entire adult life in big cities and decided it was time to get back to rural roots. It was one of the best decisions of my life, although I'm a bit uncertain about facing winter weather given that I'm used to the 115-degree temperatures of the desert.
I'm excited about having a new outlet for expressing my thoughts and ideas, and to share my research. I do hope that you will follow me!

My post is ranked as the 21st most undervalued posts for Dec-5. That's crazy! Thank you to everyone who upvoted and commented. I'm encouraged! Time to get busy writing my next post ;-)
I'm glad you liked my intro. And thank you for those resources; I'm sure they'll come in handy!
Welcome aboard. I think you're going to like it here. Even our leftists tend to be on the polite side, lol.
Polite leftists? That would be refreshing! Even more than that, I would enjoy having an actual discussion with a leftist, rather than the typical tiresome ad hominem offensive. We shall see!
I think the combination of site reputation and the possibility of getting paid on any given posts keeps us all a little more civil ;>
there are still some nasty ones, but you can mute them from your view
That sounds encouraging :-) Do you recommend down-voting at all (nasty posts, or any posts that seem to warrant it), or is that generally counterproductive?
Personally, I think it's counterproductive 90% of the time.
I have used it once out of being annoyed at a post, and used it once to correct somebody that spammed my post with an ad...in that case, I left a comment explaining why I flagged him, and told him I'd remove the flag when he removed the flag. That worked, and I removed the flag.
Th e other part of the flag is this, as a new user with a low rep and low Steem Power the flag is not going to have a lot of effect.
But don't hesitate to use if t if someone is really harassing you either! If somebody is being insulting and personal, flag em!
Other than that. mute will work.
Thank you for the advice. As a newbie, there's a lot to learn about this platform; more of a "thinking man's" social network than Facebook. lol
