The Steemit Whales analytics: all the data from the firsts 100 Whales of Steemit
I gathered the data from Steemwhales, and create graphs for you.
As many of you may now, the term Whales exist on Steemit to refer to the people with the more weight on the platform.
The website Steemwhales.com is doing an amazing job by collecting the data and showing to you who are those whales.
But with just number it's hard to see the distribution of those whales.
Here is some graphs I made and comments to help you better understand the Steemit upper side distribution.
All the data included only the first 100 people on the platform classed by estimated value.
Number of posts vs posts rewards distribution
The average number of posts is 77 and the average cumulative posts reward is 9 355 832. Only 12% of the people in the Top 100 are above both of these averages.
Curation rewards vs posts rewards distribution
As you can see in these graph, the distribution is tight. Only one person is far away on the curation rewards, and it is not @wang, for those of you who was wondering.
We can see both strategy are used by the Top 100:
- Posting and get the reward
- Curating and get the reward
If we put a logarithmic scale, we can clearly see that they are both posting and curating.
Estimated value distribution
This present you the estimated value in BTC repartition.
The value is decreasing quickly until the end of the Top 20. Indeed, 89% of the Top 100 estimated value is held by the firsts 20.
Estimated value distribution vs disposable value
This graph presents in orange the disposable value for each user. The amount of Steem and Steem Dollar that he holds. Only 1.4% of the estimated value for the Top 100 is disposable. (They can't dump the price yay!)

A lot of Steem Power for not so much Steem and Steem Dollars, that's cool isn't it?

You've been posting this in every single topic. While I appreciate the service and see how it might add value to our ecosystem, spamming it in every venue you come across is both unprofessional and annoying. It makes the network and your service look bad.

Great work. The triangle graph is pretty much the genie coefficient correct ? I will also be following all these accounts. I wish this platform was less like reddit and more like twitter so I can track posts better.

The triangle graph is only a radar graph with a logarithmic scale. It shows us that there is 1M BTC in Steem Power, 10K BTC in Steem and 10 BTC in Steem Dollars.
I wish a could follow people too, that would be so helpful.
