Could You Survive Three Days Of Darkness?

A Circle

When the crop circle first appeared, most folks ignored it. Honestly, it looked like any other crop circle that has come to be over the past few decades. That was what was missing – the decades of hints and information.

But many had been listening and were preparing their family for the coming darkness. They honestly were grasping at straws as to what the word darkness meant. What if it meant the stars would stop shinning? What if society was going to collapse?

The conversations began as a whisper, but soon, it was obvious that even governments were preparing for something. But, yet again…this something remained unknown. And folks began to hoard supplies and move to special areas.

Those that had an intuitive feel for the situation did their best to explain it was not about external factors. They did their best to let folks know there would be an external warning to help folks prepare mentally for the darkness. However, these explanations would fall on deaf ears. So, they retreated and began to prepare themselves and their families for the darkness as it was closer than ever before.

Waves

The storm clouds began to appear, at the South Pole. Again, those who had given their words, now began, again, because here was the finally warning. All contact was lost with the research stations, in Antarctica. Explainers moved now to words of warning. Now was the time to find your place and just be.

The images coming from the cameras were ominous. These clouds were rolling further and further north. As they came north, entire villages, cities, and countries were now quiet. All communications, all activity, all life had just stopped.

Sirens

As the northern hemisphere prepared, many said their prayers that there was a more advanced warning. Martial law was implement. Transportation was halted. Ships brought to ports. The world was slowing ending, but not ending. No one could explain why entire communities were going dark.

It was decided that communities would do their best to give a 15 minute warning. Anything more, and they were worried for people’s sanity. Most folks were scared, and they were already the wild beast within take charge of their actions.

When the sirens came, panic set in for many. While those that had the knowledge were calmly being comfy on their beds, couches, or wherever they chose – those without the knowledge were still being busy bees attempting to block out the coming darkness.

Darkness Arrives

Many have settled, but are still scared about the coming – well, really many don’t know what is coming. Many think the world is dying and this is the long sleep. The look out their windows.

These are the last pictures that they might ever take…

Nothing In The Unprepared Mind

Where am I? What is this? How do I get home? Why can’t I see? Where is my body? Am I dead? Where is this? They have finally come for us. Oh, no…Is my body okay? What happens next? Why do bad things always happen to me? Am I dead? Do I ever get to go back? I just want this to end? Why won’t this end? End. End. End. End. End. What if I get hungry? Or need to go to the bathroom?

Nothing In The Prepared Mind

Interesting. This is a weird change of pace. There is nothing to focus on. I wonder what I can create. Can I bring things to form? I should definitely do my best to remain calm. Focus on being mindful. Just stay in the moment. While, I worry about my family, there is nothing I can do, but send love and prayers. Colors…can I create colors? Oh, that is very lovely. Thank you.

Could Your Mind Survive 3 Days Of Nothing?

One of my favorite questions, as a kid, was could you handle being alone with your thoughts and nothing, but own spirit for days at a time? Taking care our mental health is not just a story, but a real life issue that has again been pushed to the front of all with the loss of Chester Bennington due to suicide.

Please take the time to care for your own mind and mental health. Everyone matters.

I really liked this! My husband would be in his element. He takes breaks in the day, just to "think". I really admire that.

Much appreciation.

I have seen quite a few "melt downs" since arriving on Steemit. This was one of the most neutral ways to approach a subject that folks need to pay attention to.

What a wonderful piece. I thoroughly enjoy it @clevercreator. It is the silence, in the darkness that the reality of existence screams out to us. Everyone should experiment as is comfortable to them with periods of silence, periods of.darkness. Let the darkness light your way and the silence speak to you.
Existential experience will not be far away. I am following you as I found this to be a quality read. Thank you and have a beautiful day. Also I have resteemed this article as I would wish more people to read it.

Much much much appreciation.

It is not even the light that they should focus on, but the just being present in the moment. Mindfulness in all actions is a the best action to be prepared for any and all situations.

I have wanted to try sensory deprivation tanks for a while. My friend swears by them for both mental well being and it feels good :)

Dude.... they rock, but honestly, if someone is not centered, they can be scary as frac!

Just being mindful in our actions is good for mental health too and a great start to build up to the deprivation chamber.

Very true ! With the government (here in the UK) cutting mental health funding left rigth and centre its never been more importnat and we have the power through meditation and spiritual paractice to do this :)

It is heartbreaking that we have so many folks that are unable to cope with life because of many stress points that their life brought to them. Better tools are needed.

Spirituality (no matter what form) is beyond important. Just taking the time to recharge and express gratitude for what is present in life right at this moment brings more gifts into a person's world.

AMEN!

What a neat story :) You know, I recall meeting you at some point. I'm sorry, I've gone into a bit overload on here at times. Was it you that said you were going to post a novel? If so, have you?

It's your name that's ringing a bell, I love it.

blush Much appreciation.... yeah, I never put links in it though (another project to fix).... but you can search for Lost Lizzy.

I got busy working on my steemstarter launch so a bit behind in post. The goal is to get Steemians art out into the world!!! Art all over the place.

Hope all is well in your world :)

Oh cool, I definitely will :)
I'll also have to check out the launch. Trying to minimalize steemit for a little bit, spend time in the great outdoors, but I'm sure I'll be back full swing soon enough :)

Thank you, I hope the same for you!

If one achieves the highest level of meditation then the the answer is yes to the subject matter of this post.....

We can agree to disagree. I understand that this is a belief that is built into your culture and it is a long standing culture that I admire.

I was supposed to meet with my client's Guru last month. Quite a few things happened and we were in the same building, but never did we get to meet.

Folks can find balance without needing to aspire to perfect. It is all a matter of folks changing their perspectives.
