Winning Post Content Strategies: Steemit post what others want to read
You don't have to be a creative or copy writing genius to attract traffic to your steemit post or blog. You just have to write interesting content. A content that your target audience finds valuable.
How can you do this if you're not Shakespeare? By writing what others want to read.
An analysis of my own steemit post view and vote, plus watching the comment streams at other top steemit post, has helped me develop a hierarchy of post content.
A hierarchy of post content themes
Actionable. Readers' number 1 interest is in content that can help them to do something. They want specifics about what actions to take to improve their lives. The world is full of vague advices and strategies. You can differentiate your content by posting detailed, specific advice. This is why comparison-shopping websites succeed. They tell you where the best deal is, so that you can take action.
Useful. Readers' also appreciate advice that may not be immediately actionable, but that is useful more general. Posting current news items or statistics relevant to crypto world or your target audience is a great easy way to serve steemians. You don't need to know what people will do with that news or statistics, but if you've added value by filtering that info for them, they're likely to return for more.
Interesting. Less actionable or useful are the "interesting" thoughts, factoids, or commentary that you can share. Readers file this away mentally and often use them for water-cooler conversation.
Inspiring. A post that motivates or excites is both useful and interesting, but often vague. Helping people feel better about themselves is a valid goal, but if it is not actionable, it falls lower on the utility scale. Inspirational post can be a winner, however, because even when people forget what you said, they're likely to remember how you made them feel. If they felt good when reading your post, they're likely to return for more.
Entertaining. We all appreciate distraction from our daily chores. Humor and recreation are great at-tractors of traffic but are difficult to replicate everyday.
Titillating. Sex sells the best, of course. It's great attention get-ter, but it's difficult to use to build your reputation and readership unless your goal toward porn.
Your goal as steemit content producer is to attract and add value to the community. I propose that the more your post climbs this scale toward actionable, the more reader will find it.
