Northern Continent

The Northern Continent is an outdoorsman's dream. It's teeming with lakes and rivers and wildlife. While it's generally very cold and often snowy, dry wood is plentiful, which makes fire-making a relatively easy task.

There are herds of wild Chocobos nearly everywhere you look, which is the best tasting meat that you'll find in any of the three continents, and it's very nutritious to boot! And if you happen to have lightning materia, then catching yourself a dead Chocobo with all of it's meat still intact and usable (as food) is an easy task, making food a non-issue.

Water is also a non-issue, as, like I mentioned earlier, there are rivers and streams and lakes a-plenty, and since most of this continent is desolate, as far as any signs of human civilization is concerned, most, if not all, of these water sources provide pristine water that you can drink without need of purifying.

There are some very dangerous monsters that roam around this continent, though, so it's not without it's risks. But for a man like myself, with as much EXP and AP as I've garnered over the course of my endeavors, these creatures pose more of an exciting challenge than they do a real threat to one's life. That said, most people out there are nowhere near my level of fighting skills or magic abilities, and for them these creatures are a big, big threat - and loss of life is a very real possibility for such people.

So, while trekking it out here in the Northern Continent certainly isn't for everyone, it's a real blessing for people like me, who've developed a high degree of mastery, as far as physical and magical offense and defense goes, and don't mind putting those skills to the test. The outdoorsman lifestyle is only the cherry on top for me.
