Balance on Point

in #photography7 years ago

You should know by now that I love fishing, and I literally could go every single day if I didn't have any other responsibilities.

Back in the day before I got my nice boat, my brother @bwells and I used to always go fishing off our kayaks. We probably went about 3-5 times per week for a period of about 2 years, and it was one of the best times of my life. We caught numerous great fish and had lots of fun together.

This is a bass that I caught at this really cool spot in the Hillsborough River that you can't even navigate with a real boat. There isn't enough room to get through a lot of different areas there, meaning that only kayak fisherman have access to a lot of the spots we went.

Here is a look at a bass that I caught while standing up on my kayak:

Standing on a kayak can be quite difficult if it is the type of kayak that wasn't designed for standing. I actually fell out of this kayak on a separate day in the same exact spot of the river. I made it to a tree stump and climbed out, and I had to get my brother to go rescue my kayak and bring it back to me! Too bad he didn't snap a picture of me up on that stump trying to stay away from an alligator!

The next kayak I bought after this one was designed for angling and being able to stand while fishing, but this one, not so much.

I still really enjoyed the kayak, and all of the great memories that I made on it.

Stay High,
