Keep A Heavenly Focus

There is so much pleasure in the world to take away your attention if all you care about is the things of the world. Many Christians have backslided and have turned away from Christ because they couldn't focus or look unto Jesus the author and finisher of their faith. They couldn't resist the temptation of looking at the sweet things the devil showed them.

Where is your focus? is your focus on heaven or on earth and the things in it?

There is only one place that God want us to focus and that is heaven where Christ is seated.
Therefore, if you have been raised with the Messiah, keep focusing on the things that are above, where the Messiah is seated at the right hand of God. Keep your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth. Colossians 3:1-2

We are only to Love heavenly things; study them; let our hearts be entirely engrossed by them. Now that we have been Christ we are not expected to still focus and yearn for heavenly things and nothing else.

All our thoughts should be about heaven which our final destination. All the wealth, riches, honor and pleasures on earth are all passing away amd nothing will remain forever. God made the world we live very in temporal, that is why everything that is in it set I or a eaten with time. Thieves can even break in to our properties and steal.

God wants us to to only focus more and heaven and the treasures of heaven and not the houses, lands, fashion and the short term enjoyments.
Lot's wife should be our example. She still looked back at the things that were perishing at Sodom and Gomorrah and she became a pillar of salt.

We should not be in bondage to the things of this world now that we have tasted and see that the Lord is good and in Him are all the things that will profit our souls.
