PROMOTING STEEMIT AT THE KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY BY #TEAMGHANA, Our first meetup in Kumasi, Ghana and The Way Forward for Further Promotion

Steemit to me is an excitement, a great allurement and good ground to explore more possibilities. It's really fascinating thinking of the numerous benefit one could derive from blogging on steemit. A good remunerative site needs to be popularized for the masses to join.

Last Friday, #Teamghana in Kumasi storms one of the renowned Universities in Ghana to promote steemit. Currently the move is to see how best we can promote Steemit in all the ten regions in Ghana. Since we live at different locations in the country we taught it wise to start right where we are, those of us in Kumasi in Ashanti Region Ghana have decided to target all the educational institutions in the region for steemit promotion.

The campus is very large and has a great number of students. Our plan is to reach out to majority of Students in any possible way we can. I believe the viability and sustainable of steemit greatly depends on its wider coverage and its number of users. We draw more inspiration from our superiors: @richforever @tj4real @mcsamm @anaman @kwakumax and as a result there is going to be more promotion from now till next year.

IT WAS A NICE MEETUP

Steemit meetup is a nice and a wonderful experience since it helps steemians to know themselves better and brings more fun as they share their experiences and discuss how they could be of help to each other. It makes it possible for its users to meet in person. Through this promotion and meetup, I got to see some of the great guys in the team for the first time.. @mcsamm @anaman @Jeeandmee, @odsam2 I know personally. I can't wait for our next promo. @anaman was really helpful, he is indeed a great steemian. He took us through how we will go about the promotion on campus, came with the flyers with steemit logo.

With the help of @jeeandmee, a student at the University we were able to link-up with students who were spending their leisure hours at the school's summer hut. With @jeeandmee's laptop and our phones, we were able to make effective campaign by using our pages on steemit as evidence. We couldn't meet up with more students as it was their examination period and so we decided 'a come back' would be a nice idea. That is during the times when they are through with their exams.

TIME FOR PROMOTION: THE EXCITEMENT, THE CURIOSITY AND MIXED FEELINGS WHEN THEY HEARD ABOUT STEEMIT

Imagine the excitement, the intrigues, mixed feelings and questions when we announced steemit for the first time to the students we met. Another tedious work has begun as there was also a need to enlighten those interested about how to go about with the registration and other necessary information they need to be abreast with. We got quite a number of students who expressed their interest and they will soon be through with their sign up and then come on board.

Currently we are assisting them and training them so they can stay for the community and make useful contribution. We believe promoting steemit is equally important as training and helping newbies, so they can stay after they are on Steemit. Bringing people on board shouldn't end there, but also the need to render more support to them. This is why a great community is already in place by #teamghana to support newbies to add up valuable content to the platform. Thanks to @tj4real @richforever @anaman @mcsaam @kwakumax for all the amazing work they are doing for newbies in the team.

THE WAY FORWARD IN OUR NEXT PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES IN KUMASI GHANA

Before leaving the campus there was a need for another good plan for our next visit. We discussed how we can embark on a massive promotion in our next visit. We thought it would be great:

• To go in our Steemit T-Shirt next time. We thought it wise to be in the T-shirt to give steemit more exposure and to give us a good identity.

• To visit all their notice boards where we can paste posters and flyers of Steemit with our contacts for those we would miss.

• To extend steemit promotion in other institutions in Kumasi-Ghana.

• Lastly, to reach out to the less privilege homes and support them in anyway we can.

THE NEED FOR SUPPORT TO CREATE MORE AWARENESS OF STEEMIT IN GHANA

Nowadays fraudulent practices and scamming business have surfaced online making it hard for people to notice or spot good opportunity online. It is difficult for people to believe that real way of getting money exist. This undoubtedly has caused people to tend to disbelieve even in a any viable and credible platforms like steemit. You will bear with me that not everyone will see Steemit as credible when you introduce it to them . . So how should people embrace the mere mention of steemit and what it's about if there is nothing to proof it realistically?. Recently I have spoken to the #teamghana on how best we can help steemit spread fast in Ghana.

We discussed about how best we can solicit for funds to embark on a massive advertisement and campaign and organize steemfest in Ghana. I draw much inspiration from the great work done by @starkerz in promoting steemit through the procurement of Steemit Shirts, flyers to aid in promotion. People need to be supported and be enticed to join, this is because not everyone will find it interesting to be here on steemit, Giving out incentives and support in many forms could help more people to join. I believe this why Jerry Banfield even said all his Witness earnings will used to fund and promote Steemit on Facebook and Google. This is an excerpt from his post:
