THE FRAGRANCE
Does a rose smell its own fragrance? Does an orange taste its own juice? Of course not. They are merely exposing their glory. The glory of a rose is its fragrance; that of an orange, its juice. Their glory comes out for someone else's benefit, however.
A rose gives off a sweet fragrance not for its own pleasure but for the pleasure of others. An orange produces refreshing juice not for its own enjoyment but for the enjoyment of others.
What the rose and the orange have in common is that to fully expose their glory they must be crushed. A rose smells wonderful on the bush, but crushing the bloom releases the full essence of its perfume. An orange smells sweet on the tree, but the only way to extract its juice is to crush it.
It is only as they are consumed that the rose and the orange fully manifest their glory. The fragrance is not for the rose and the juice is not for the orange. Their glory exist for others.
The same true with us. Our glory exists not for our own benefit but for others. Just as we would crush a rose to release its fragrance or an orange to extract its juice, God crushes us to squeeze out our glory. We may be uncomfortable with the pressure He applies but God is delighted with the perfume that results.
God created us to release His glory in the world and His purpose will not be completed until the whole earth is filled with its fragrance.
Definitely an amazing analogy to think about! We have to serve others each day in some way or another!

As he applies the pressure on us in form of crushing, sometimes we complain and nag but for a Gold to come out sparkling, it must pass through furnace.
