"Bitcoin drops after dramatic gains ahead of futures launch"

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Is it me or does the media seem hell-bent on downplaying the value of Bitcoin?

I see article after article claiming problems when the price rises and problems when the price falls. They don't say that the price has naturally fallen back, as would be expected, because it gained so much in the previous day. And it doesn't say that such fluctuations are quite normal in the crypto world. Instead, it has to sensationalize it.

With all the negative publicity, it's a wonder that Bitcoin prices haven't fallen back to prices of the previous weeks.

The Reuters article was last edited 9 hours ago, but it's still on the front page - a bit out of date when you consider that the price has stabilized over that time.

LONDON/NEW YORK (Reuters) - Bitcoin lost almost a fifth of its value in 10 hours on Friday, having surged more than 40 percent in the preceding 48 hours, sparking fears the market may be heading for a price collapse.
