Demonstration of "John Avery Chamber Organ 1792" by Silver Octopus Studios

Yesterday, I posted my demonstration of the Anonymous @ 1760-1780 organ by Silver Octopus Studios. Today, I'm sharing with you my demonstration of the John Avery Chamber Organ 1792.

John Avery was an organ builder who was drunk a lot of the time, had been in prison for debts and was known to steal pipes from organs and repurposing them elsewhere. Despite these shortcomings, he was still a skilled organ builder! None of his larger instruments are in existence, sadly, but several of his small chamber organs are still around—just like this one.

It has 5 stops, no pedals and the two 8' ranks are not divided. As with instruments built during this period, it has a long compass down to G up to top F (59 notes). The tuning is Meantone Fifth Comma.

The specification is: Dulciana 8', Stopped Diapason 8', Principal Bass 4', Principal Treble 4', Fifteenth Bass 2', Fifteenth Treble 2', Sesquialtera Bass, Cornet Treble. There is also a shifting pedal to cut out the wind to the upper work.
