Some interesting facts about Miss World 2017 - Manushi Chhillar

I would like to write this blog with few interesting facts and information about newly crowned Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar, a 20 year old from India.
- She hails from Haryana, India and is currently pursuing Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and she wants to become a cardiac surgeon.
- She was an All India CBSE(12th Standard) topper in English.
- She likes acting and actively takes part in dramas and shows. So, it seems one more beauty pageant winner will be coming to Bollywood soon.
- She is conducting a project called "Project Shakti", through which, she is trying to create awareness in the people about problems related to menstrual cycle. She visited around 20 villages and more than 5000 women for treatment.
- When she is free, she will do paining or writes poems.
- She is an expert Kuchipudi (one of the eight major Indian classical dances) dancer.
- She missed her 12th Class exams last year because of preparation for Miss World, but scored back 96% this year.
- She plans to open non profit hospitals in rural areas after her studies.
- She likes outdoor sports like Scuba diving, bungee jumping and snorkelling.
- Her father Mitra Basu is an scientist at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and her mother is an assistant professor and department head at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.
- She was trained for the pageant by former Miss India 2002 and Bollywood actress, Neha Dhupia.
- When she was asked which profession deserves the highest salary, she said: “My mother has been my biggest inspiration, so I have to say, a mother’s job. It is not always about cash, but love and respect as well. A mother deserves that the most.”
- She represented her college and India in Japan’s Cultural Exchange Program in 2014.
