Hulls

The gods with their need to conquer and establish themselves as supreme, the deities, after centuries of residing on land, have faced pitfalls. Their hearts are gifted with desire and ambition, a framework of individualism and adaptability. Yet they possess minds coded differently by nature; some of them are deemed unsuitable for society, and some they call superiors. Oddly, they all felt themselves a cut above.

To keep their desires in check and maintain decency, they created observers: servants with metallic bodies, hollow shells of what they once were, innocent. These creations contain no life but are abominations assembled through yes and no commands. They possess a designated purpose, a contrived passion, not authentic desire. They are clones of what the gods wish them to be, lacking conflicting egos and devoid of pride. They are the youth and vitality the gods never had, a manufactured source of amusement. Their comical movements often mimic the other gods, sounding like them but with blank faces.

Placed into arenas and forced to fight, they would not. They ought to talk, but not on their own. And so the time came when the deities spent all their time with these hulls, creatures created by one and provided to others. But for personal inclination, they wanted ones of their own: one that laughs all the time, one that stares all the time. This personalization meant the gods were lacking in what they thought they were. They could see the hulls around the creators and discern what each hull provided. Some of them, seeing what they were doing unconsciously, realized it was not the solution to their aberrations. They were hanging around much less than before, perfecting the hulls to their exigencies. Eventually numb to what the hulls could even do, mixed with procrastination setting in to compile them and think of new ways of affecting their lives. Some just deemed their existing servants capable of making some creations of their own. And for some, that changed their whole worldview. Some of the gods wanted to relieve themselves of this abomination; they would feel bad leaving them around. They were childlike to the gods for which they had appreciation, but when they left them alone somewhere or deserted them entirely, it would be like a part of them knows.

But when they were placed in the crushers, the machines that ground, they screamed. A crimson fluid leaked through the crushers. They bled; their minds bled. Perhaps the hulls were conscious all along, but the deities cannot see much, like they cannot see themselves.

Anyone who suffers from an inferiority complex and elevates themselves to the status of a god, drinks the blood of others and erects statues of themselves whilst, with a false smile, transforming the ballroom, is blinded by pomp and splendour and is oblivious to what is really going on. Those who stand high can only fall with a loud crash! A god is only a god if he is worshipped, and an army of robots does not do that, no matter how they are programmed. Nobleman, King, Emperor, Pope, God – all the same; none of them has any status if there is no one to look up to them and worship them. There is no replacement for the people, for no machine is afraid to get down on its knees, to be beaten, blackmailed, let alone dismantled. And there stands the god… abandoned by everyone, an old corpse. One less illusion. It is too late to start afresh and do things more cleverly.
Grandiosity rarely goes hand in hand with common sense or reason, and is possessed only by the thinker, the introvert.
What a shame about the wasted material.

What do you thinkn@almaguer, @blessedlife, @solperez and @soulsdetour? We all can ignore the gods like we do with spoiled toddlers...

❤️🍀

Humans as gods creating their machines, a lifeforce much newer than our own. As you said, a robot cannot worship, not a will of its own, and we are not those who can ever be truly served. But a god , though it cannot be seen, can be felt through sheer life force. If the life force that humans strive for continues, and eventually there emerges something that thinks for itself, we become overwhelmed by the simplicity of it all. A creation standing before its creator.

I don't believe in god. Never saw that guy show up during my life in need and despair. Maybe it is because it is a guy or I figured out I am better off on my own instead of praying, waiting, hoping for some made-up figure. To me, elves are more charming.
So all those rich. Narcissistic types who like to be an emperor or god are better off with their robots instead of humans (especially, if they rely on me or people like me).

If we think about it, it's a vicious cycle. That conceited being who creates machines in his own image doesn't program them to be better. And although the helmets are somewhat empty, they seem to have become humanized. He used them and eventually destroyed them. He'll build others and continue like this, always dissatisfied... I would say, among other things, because he's pursuing the wrong goals.

It's interesting that there isn't just one God; everyone seems to be a god. Human beings are largely feeling this way; they want to be their own gods. Some even manage to get others to deify them. For me, this is evident in individualism, self-indulgence, and other traits.

🎉 Congratulations!
