⚖️ What do you know about laws? Tell us briefly

I am not an expert in laws, but I know above all those that determine my duties and rights in order to develop properly within my social environment. In a country like ours, where the same authorities that should be in charge of applying equal justice for all citizens often commit the most atrocious abuses and arbitrariness, it is important to be aware of at least the basic legal framework that protects us and confers us certain prerogatives.

An individual, as in my case, who resides in a multi-family property, has a wife and children, walks the streets of his city, drives his own vehicle and works in a public administration position, among other things, must take into consideration the rules that regulate coexistence to avoid transgressions that may be penalized and defend his rights with true integrity.

⚖️ If you could change one law in your country, what would it be?

---

At present, due to the arbitrary transformations of some essential norms made by this nefarious government that has been in power for more than two decades, there are a few laws that I would like to change. However, the most important one, the one that could put an end in the future to political advantage and the intentions of an ideological current to remain eternally managing the destinies of our nation, is the one that refers to the indefinite reelection of our rulers. Every six years, for example, presidential elections are held, but the incumbent president has the power to run as many times as he/she wants.

⚖️ Why do you think it is necessary to change this law?

When the same group remains in power for too long, as it has happened in Venezuela since the end of the last century until the present, administrative abuses, corruption, advantageism with respect to others who are trying to reach governmental seats and an endless number of other arbitrary acts become manifestations that seem normal within the daily existence of the country. It is essential, therefore, the alternation in power of the different political visions that comply with the laws to aspire to govern the destinies of the nation. It is not at all fair that those who are governing close all doors, appealing to caricatured legal subterfuges, to those who seek access to the highest public offices that do not belong to their same ideology.

⚖️ How will this change affect society and your country?

It has become evident during the last few years that the vast majority of Venezuelan citizens yearn for a change of government. The economic, social, political and moral crisis brought about by this regime caused, among other things, the devaluation of the currency, the drastic decrease in the salaries of all public employees and consequently the loss of purchasing power, the scandalous deterioration in the quality of education, the outrages in the administration of justice, the abusive blockade of free speech and the massive emigration of our countrymen to other countries in the area...

A paradigm shift, if the reins of the country are managed by the most prepared individuals, who take into account the welfare of the entire population and do not prioritize the imposition of an ideology by blood and fire, would mean a return to that normality of the past. To that time when the nation enjoyed the guidelines of a democracy that, of course, had its flaws, but could be perfected because it was a system that considered, above all things, the freedom of its citizens; a Venezuela where those who studied and worked always had the opportunity to grow as a whole.
