The Bastards Cut The Power Last Night

Thought this was quite funny. With alcohol and cigarettes banned from being purchased many are getting desperate lol.

One week ticked off and two weeks to go hopefully depending on the countries situation I suppose. My fear is we all go back to work and have to repeat this all over again because they called it off too soon.Personally I am thinking like most others and that the Chinese have lied and covered up so much that the rest of the world stood no chance.

Trying to save face at the expense of everyone else does not sit well with me.On top of that a large percentage of the aid supplied by the Chinese can't even be used as the quality of the products is inferior. Unfortunately this is like most things that come out of China these days and if you are going to make something at least do it right.

Hasn't got that bad where you look to use flies as pets.

It has been fairly easy up until now with the occasional curved ball. I have no qualms about staying at home as there is loads to do really and we also have the block chain which has been a life saver. Knowing you are housebound for 21 days means there is no rush to really do anything and time means nothing. I have found that all of a sudden I am going to bed at 4 or 5 am and don't really care.

5 days ago the internet went a little wonky as the cable from Europe was damaged yet again and we are on a make shift connection that doesn't always work very well. If you were watching a movie or playing a game it would drive you nuts with the lag and then it would just disappear entirely. Patience is required as we have been promised it will be fixed by this Saturday.

Tonight the electricity went off and we have had no power for the about 6 hours. I saw on the SA lock down twitter site people bitching about load shedding and thought it can't be real. It is real as even though they say it is a damaged switch at a sub station this was too much of a coincidence going off exactly at 8 pm. If it was 8.17 or 7.56 then possibly I would fall for that story ,but not exactly on the hour. Coincidences don't just happen and they are thinking everyone is stupid and naive.

All I can say they are a bunch of lying bastards promising that load shedding wouldn't happen over the 21 days. The reason they said was that most businesses would be closed so they didn't need to save the extra power. This doesn't make sense and would rather they were honest with everyone from the beginning. They are obviously trying to claw back the reserves so they have some for winter which is just around the corner.

It is not the end of the world as every day is like a weekend now and have to check what day of the week we are on. Over the last 10 years I have hardly taken a day off and this is kind of foreign ground looking for things to do.When they cut your electricity for a huge portion of the day it is a struggle. I could go and get petrol for the generator, but was kind of thinking it will come back on if I shoot off to the petrol station anyway.

I have just got back from the shops and it is not bad at all. Everything is available and only one out of 3 shops had a queue. Less people around than normal and fairly pleasant. The jerry can is full of petrol so we are prepared for anything that might happen as i do expect more power cuts.
