My Intro To Steemit. Trade Automation, Mining, and General Musing to Come.steemCreated with Sketch.

People tend to call me Kick, feel free to do so yourself.

I am a data person and have been working with data and code for over a couple decades now. Pretty much everything that drives me is data related. I want to ensure that everything I do is working appropriately and as I further enhance my process-- I have something to compare against.

With that data in hand, I can definitively identify if my path is working out or if I need to go another direction/adjust/etc.

In my day job, I am a data architect for a financial firm.

Outside of my day job however, I am heavily involved in the crypto currency space, trading and doing limited technical analysis (limited versus the true experts out there at least).

I started out trading a few years back but my early attempts were pretty unsuccessful being margin called and completely liquidated while a good number of in real life issues were occurring. Finally though, I got my real life in order and got back into this world early to mid last year (2017) and started again being a bit more cautious than last time.

I soon realized I needed to learn how to read charts and do some basic technical analysis. I now use those lessons learned constantly-- MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) and Bollinger Bands being my main tools with some reliance on RSI (Relative Strength Index) and Fibonacci Retracement/Extensions coming in close behind them. The technical analysis combined with an exceptional charting platform on Coinigy has definitely taken my manual trading to the next level.

As enjoyable as that had been-- I needed to streamline this process and started looking into automating my trades. I came across Haas Bot and was impressed because I remember looking at this offering years ago when I was trading before. Being around in the crypto world for years, seemed to be a good sign of a strong company. I reached out to the owner and opened a dialogue-- soon after, I started evaluating their product.

The start was rocky but I eventually got things dialed in and have not looked back ever since.

With the start of the new year (2018), I decided to help myself by keeping more in-depth notes and actually publishing them here regarding my path in automated bot trading of cryptocurrencies. :) Part of the plan here on steemit is to share my progression with bots, and perhaps help some of you avoid the mistakes I've made along the way.

The other major thing I have going on this year is I've gotten into mining-- and jumping in with reckless abandon. So far, I've purchased 3 ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) miners from Bitmain. These ASICs include one of each: S9 (sha-256), L3 (scrpyt), and an A3 (blake 2b). Right now, I am waiting on shipment of my orders. Beyond the ASICs though, I've ordered a relatively moderate start to a GPU mining rig-- 3 1070 TIs which should arrive in the next couple weeks. As I navigate through the mining side of this space, I'll be sure to keep you all updated as well. ;)

So with the above all being said, I'll be posting my progress with all of this and hopefully creating a dialogue with which we can all figure things out-- I certainly am not an expert by any means.

Hello Kick, you can call me Tub Cat.

You sound like a rather intelligent being. Unlike my owner who thinks that he looks like Loki and keeps trying to sound like him.

He doesn't. He sounds like a whiny teenager even though he's in his 30's and lives with his unemployed mother.

I am quite interested in automating the trading of crypto but don't have the technical know how. So I shall follow your progress closely.
