Golden Coach Award For Horror and SF Master John Carpenter
John Carpenter will receive the 2019 Golden Coach Award (Carrosse d’Or) at this year Cannes Film Festival. That really prestige award is given by French Association of Directors, at the Directors’ Fortnight sidebar.
Since 2002 this association is awarding this prize during Cannes Film Festival. The award is named Golden Coach by the famous movie (1952) with same title by Jean Renoir. Carpenter will receive the award at May 15th.

John Carpenter got famous by his horror and SF movies and some of the world known are “Halloween,” “The Fog,” “Christine” or “Escape from New York”. He is not only a director, he is also screenwriter, producer, music writer… Last director work of Carpenter was in 2010, the horror/thriller movie called The Ward.
Last year winner of the Golden Coach was Martin Scorsese.
The International Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 14th to 25th and the president of the jury who will hand over the Golden Palm will be the Mexican director Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
