'Rising Kashmir' editor Sujat shot dead

A editor of a newspaper in Srinagar was shot dead outside his office in India. This happened on Thursday in Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir state.

Sujat Bukhari is the editor of the killed. He was the editor of 'Rising Kashmir' magazine. But for the exact reason why this attack on him, it is not initially known. But the security of Sujith Bukhari was being provided security since 2000 in fear of the attack.

Indian media NDTV reported that terrorists shot dead Sujit Bukhari, editor of 'Rising Kashmir'. When the attack on him, he was inside the car. During this time he was accompanied by a car driver and his personal safety net. They were also injured.

Nadir Masoodi of NDTV, after this incident, said that he (Sujit) is a very good friend and he has worked with us for more than two decades. A local newspaper said that several bullets were hit on the head and stomach of journalist and editor Sujith Bukhari.

According to the US-based organization Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), between 1992 and 2018, more than 77 journalists were killed in India.
