Wow, that was fast :D I truly hope you found a way to pay for that coffee with BTC. And yes, I completely agree with you that we need more ways to spend our crypto IRL, in order to make it a massive success.
The more merchants we have accepting crypto, the faster we can get into the eyes of the mainstream.
@runicar, thank you for stopping by!
To be honest I checked the site www.coinmap.org which shows the list of places that accept crypto as a mean of payment. So, a bar called "Time bar" and a grocery "K-Markt" were on the list. I went to these place, but I turned out that they don't accept crypto. And even in the "K-Markt" the staff told me that they had never heard about crypto (bitcoin). It turned out that the information on the site www.coinmap.org is incorrect.
Yeah, I think that if we want Steem blockchain to become a great ecosystem the STEEM adoption as a medium of exchange should expand. I think this is very important, at least in my view.
What a shame.... Is there another app or site that offers more correct information? I have never used one myself because I don't even expect a business or a store to be so ahead of time here in Croatia.
@runicar, I don't know other sites. To be honest I thought that www.coinmap.org is a reliable source. A few days ago I wrote a post on Steemit in which I asked if someone knew places in Helsinki where you can pay by crypto. Nobody answered. Probably in Finland crypto is not popular enough.
By the way, I am going to the SteemFest in Krakow. While searching for flights it turned out that AirBaltic accept Bitcoin. That's great! But I found a better flight, a direct flight from Moscow to Warsaw by Aeroflot, so I will not flight over Riga, Latvia with AirBaltic.
Maybe the places used it as a publicity stunt then.
Nice! A lot of people are going this year and the numbers are only enreasing each year. Can't make it to Krakow but hope I'll be able to come wherever it will be next year.
@cryptospa, again a very interesting post from any corner of the world! Thanks for managing all of them. I really hope you had a great time in Helsinki! For the first time there?
@cryptospa, how was the weather there? Looks like you are ok, but weather is kinda windy and cold? Did you manage to visit top places in Helsinki?Generally Helsinki has a lot to offer.
