YESTERDAY'S LOVE STORY

In my earliest years on earth I loved my dad so much I taught of him as LOVE; I had a feeling of safety when he was around, he was my protector and provider...I felt complete , at first I didn't recognize this feeling as love ...
Then I lost him, I was 8, I felt shattered, what would I do? I tried to block the pain out, I gave up on love...I was empty, wasn't so fond of my mom, neither was she, I cried all the time... but then I went through school and then I decided to try again

LOVE came in form of a young man, but this time
I climb slowly,
Carefully....
Unsure if love would catch me if I slip.

He extended his hand and bids me to climb higher.
Am intoxicated with whatever love has given to me and so i oblige....

Am at the peak of the mountain,
Love holds my hand and I dance through the night.
But then the morning came...
Am awake but love is at the base of the mountain,
Broken, into many tiny pieces.

I do not recognize love.
Love isn't supposed to fall off the mountain.

Love was supposed to teach me how to fly.
Realization hits me..

I try to gather the pieces of my fragmented emotions....

I promised myself to know better next time, to search for the original version of love no Matter the cost, to recognize fake love from miles away and to steer clear.

I failed to understand this; love is beyond being too careful in my search

Love will find me?! yes it always does....
At our lowest point? at any point at all

But before I find love again,am learning to love myself, it's the greatest love of all

And when love finally finds me? I'd be ready for love; to give love back to it what it deserves, to give it a self-loved me!💝
Finding love was yesterday's love story, today? Am finding me!
