THEME: THE SCRIPTURES ARE PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE (PART ONE)
TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 3:15-17
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
DO YOU KNOW THE SCRIPTURES?
The Holy Scriptures were introduced to Timothy when he was a child. He learnt and studied the scriptures as a child. He had therefore deep knowledge in the scriptures.
Christian, how often do you teach your children the Word of God? You think he is a child and may not understand the scriptures? Well, it is better now as he is young, which will help him grow with it than feeding him at the hour the mind has already been occupied with corrupt substances.
Make sure you involve the child during devotion. Don't leave him at home when you are going to church. Teach him the Word daily. Let him read a verse before leaving home, that is the way to go.
Salvation is key to every soul on earth. Salvation is the total deliverance from hell and its consequences.
"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." (2 Timothy 3:15).
When you know the Scriptures it makes you wise unto salvation, which will help you in your Christian journey. Don't forget, the Scriptures are God's breathe - God's Spirit.
DOCTRINE
"Didaskalia" is a Greek version of doctrine which means; teaching, instruction, that which is taught, learning, precepts.
The Word of God is therefore good or helpful for doctrine; teaching, instruction, learning and precepts. The Word of God is profitable for teaching.
Teaching is good for Christians, the body of Christ.
Those who are too big to be taught are too big to enter God's kingdom. Stop going from church to church seeking miracles. Sit under your pastor to be taught. Be obedient in order to move along. Stop being arrogant.
Most members ignore teachings. They don't learn God's Word.
Doctrine exposes sin.
It gives you deep understanding of God's Word. It strengthens and empowers you. Doctrine is good for your soul. It heals the soul, the heart and the body. Don't ever miss teachings in the church. Attend all teaching services in the church and you will be transformed.
Don't ignore good doctrine.
MEMORY VERSE
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16).

Help me Holy Spirit, to be on the right path till your glory appears, in Jesus' Name!
