Illawarra Flame Tree - Simply Red.
The Illawara Flame tree ( Brachychiton acerifolius ) is in full flower now in Sydney. It is spectacular with it's red flowers. This is an Australian native tree, and occurs naturally in the Sub-tropical regions on the East Coast of Australia and also New Guinea , growing up to 30 metres in height. After flowering, it develops large seed pods which provide food for native birds. There are 31 different species if this tree, but this one is probably the most colourful. This tree was not far from where i live.
Amazing what on other part of the world is growing. Love the gentleness and petite red colour.
My nature knowledge is basic but I presume here lives and nests Kookabura? I just remembered how you show us even more shiny ones few months ago.
Good observation mate ! Yes that is a nest there, maybe a Currawong or a Magpie. Kookaburras usually nest in tree hollows.
Internet tells me that currawong is authentic for your place but magpie we have too in Europe. I imagine the black suit of currawong goes well with this gentle red colour of how you say simply red tree.
@ctrl-alt-nwo Can you notice the resemblance with your tree?
Simply Red, yes ! I like their songs. And i was thinking of them when i did the post too. Congrats, you get the Favourite comment award. I like your knowledge on our birds as well.
Wow, thank you very much @ctrl-alt-nwo ! You made my Sunday simply the best ;)
Character is like a tree. His shadow is arrogance.Illawarra Flame tree is like a father to the character.Length, height and heart of shadow can be compared.Fat like a dad:) A caring person, her grandkids (i.e. birds) or even legacy (seed) leaves, this is great! Side by side with my dad a picture of this tree getip asica my wall...:)
Here's a long and a fat dad
Silly sausage award shared with 2 others. What's fat dad about ? Nice photo too.
I wanted to make the analogy. The environment provides a lot of benefits to a tree so that allows himself to be taken advantage of
Thank you very much like 😊
This kind of bare tree is known as. I guess it is because they do not have leaves. it really has a very nice image. Even when it has been laid. @ctrl-alt-nwo
The tree does shed it's leaves at certain times, but it does have leaves most of the time. Silly sausage award is shared with 2 other people's comments. Nice photo too.

It is famous for the bright red bell-shaped flowers that often cover the whole tree when it is leafless.
