Young Cattle in the Yards.

in #cattle7 years ago

These mixed sex cattle have just been taken off their mothers, or "weaned". They will stay in the yards for about 4 or 5 days, while the cows ( their mothers ) will remain outside the yards and separated. They will bellow at each other for days until the Cows get hungry and go away to find food. Then the young calves will be taken away. I guess you could say it's a way to let them say goodbye.IMG_0639.JPG

All i see is steaks ! 😂

Q: What do you call a good joke about steak?
A: Rare

Cows Grieve Deeply. Because cows form such strong bonds with their loved ones, it is only natural that they show signs of grief when separated from them. When a calf is taken away, the mother will cry and bellow for hours, even days, and fall into a deep depression.

Scientific fact, proven.

It starts with food and ends with food. Kind of funny and realistic at same time.

this is not sad, this is farm culture and for me is interesting to look how people living in different world parts.

Oo that was fascinating to learn.

good~!!

Pretty sad for them to get separated

Yes, it is sad, but it has to be done so that the cow can be healthy and get pregnant again. The cow will forget about it in a few weeks.

the cycle goes on i guess

You have quite a few there. How many calves do you average each season?
