Curie Weekly Update (20th to 27th Nov 2016)

in #curation8 years ago (edited)

In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.

  • For those new to Curie, please follow @curie, and join us in #curie on Steemit.chat.
  • We invite curators to submit posts from new authors in #curie on Steemit.chat. A finder's fee of 8 Steem is available for each upvoted post.
  • Follow @curie's votes to support the authors. Please consider following our trail and voting for curated authors. If you are a Streemian user, @curie is an available trail to follow.
  • Curie continues its focus on supporting new authors. Semi-established authors are supported by Steem Guild. Short form posts in Reddit-style tags are also supported by a different project. Please note that these three projects are separate. However, some Curie members do also participate on the other projects.
  • Remember to follow and interact with authors that you love whenever going through The Daily Curie.

News

  • There may be some downtime in the coming week as some of our curators are busy with other matters.
  • Project Curie's presentation by @andrarchy and @kevinwong at Steemfest is now live on Youtube. Do check it out! Once again, many thanks to @andrarchy for the wonderful introduction.
  • We have tested v0.16.0 with our bots and scripts. Backup witness @curie is all set to participate in Hardfork 16 on 6th Dec.
  • After Hardfork 16, we'll continue with the same Finder's fee - the faster power downs will help us balance out lower revenues.

Weekly Statistics

Over the last week, Project Curie curated a total of 580 posts at an average of 82 posts per day. A total of 375 unique authors were rewarded. These numbers are increased about 20% compared to last week.

SBD 6,424 was generated at an average of SBD 11 per post. A 1 SBD decline in average payout per post, due to some downtime in parts of our voting train. We are expecting an increased average payout in the coming week due to the rise in Steem price. We may decide to increase total voted posts instead, depending on traffic and our operational capacity in the coming week.

Authors

The Top 10 Authors by payouts last week were -

In what has become a safe assumption, we see a completely fresh list again this week, except one. Several top authors last week have now graduated to Steem Guild.

#curie @ https://steemit.chat/channel/curie

We upvoted 225 posts submitted by curators in #curie, with 1,800 STEEM paid out / pending payouts to curators. Slightly less than previous week, due to increase in internal curation. Note: #curie is now home to 600 users, over 100 active curators, and is arguably the largest collaborative effort in the Steem community.

It's the tenth week in a row at the top for @fubar-bdhr, despite some intense competition in the last couple of weeks. @alcibiades, a new contender last week has retained their place, right behind the champion.

Studying these top finders, one thing is common among them - their submissions are consistently good, original content.
