Curie Weekly Update (5th Dec to 12th Dec 2016)

In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.
- For those new to Curie, please follow @curie, and join us in #curie on Steemit.chat.
- We invite curators to submit posts from new authors in #curie on Steemit.chat. A finder's fee of 8 Steem is available for each upvoted post.
- Follow @curie's votes to support the authors. Please consider following our trail and voting for curated authors. If you are a Streemian user, @curie is an available trail to follow.
- Curie continues its focus on supporting new authors. Semi-established authors are supported by Steem Guild. Short form posts in Reddit-style tags are also supported by a different project. Please note that these three projects are separate. However, some Curie members do also participate on the other projects.
- Remember to follow and interact with authors that you love whenever going through The Daily Curie.
News
- We would like to thank @hendrikdegrote for delegating part of their voting power to Curie's initiative.
- Backup witness @curie is now running v0.16.0 (Hardfork 16) alongside all our bots and scripts.
- We are reducing max submissions in #curie to 3 per person per day. This is due to a limited operational capacity, and to prevent link spamming. Curators who consistently submit quality posts will have higher limits.
- The Daily Curie posts are now set to Power Up 100%.
Weekly Statistics
Over the last week, Project Curie curated a total of 660 posts at an average of 95 posts per day. A total of 420 unique authors were rewarded. These numbers remain about the same from previous week.
SBD 11,468 was generated at an average of SBD 17.30 per post. The increase in voted posts can be attributed to the return of full operations in Curie. We are currently nearing voting power equilibrium.

#curie @ https://steemit.chat/channel/curie
We upvoted 282 posts submitted by curators in #curie, with 2258 STEEM paid out / pending payouts to curators. Slightly less submissions were accepted on #curie this week full operations for internal curation.
Note: #curie is now home to 600 users, over 100 active curators, and is arguably the largest collaborative effort in the Steem community.
@fubar.bdhr returns as champion curator again this week after getting displaced by @alcibiades last week! What does not kill you makes you stronger! Other than that, we have a new curator entering the chart today - @littlemozart
Studying these top finders, one thing is common among them - their submissions are consistently good, original content.

Thanks for the hard work and dedication to quality work. A great crew working for all of us. Namaste :)
Question: To join steemit.chat does one use their current ID & Password, or create a new one separate from SteemIt? (New User Here)
Steemit.chat is separate from Steemit, so yes, you'll need to create a new account there. Do use the same ID as here though!
Congratulations to all of you
The more I read about this stuff, the more confused I become!
Hell it's been a few days posted and I just see it now. I know the day will come :)
