The Story of The Persistent But Slow Snail
Hello my friends. Today I want to share a story about the importance of being persistent and working hard. In life you have to keep trying until you reach your goals. Sometimes your goals may take a long time to reach but if you keep working towards your dreams, eventually you will be rewarded. It is my hope that this story will be inspiring to you and that you can use it to teach others the importance of working hard to succeed in reaching goals set in life.
The Story of The Persistent But Slow Snail
On a moonlit night, a small snail began climbing a very tall papaya tree. With an extremely slow movement, the snail began to travel up the trunk of the tree.
Slow...slow...the snail was destined to crawl very slowly. Even though he was slow, the snail enjoyed his journey. There was no despair in his heart even though he spent days climbing the tree. His destination was high in the treetops and he was still very far away.
The snail passed a snake that enjoyed playing on the branches of papaya trees. The snake laughed at the snail and mocked him. "Hahaha! Look at the bottom of this stupid snail! What are you climbing this tree for? No papaya has grown yet so why do you want to climb?"
Hearing the snake, the snail was not desperate or angry. "Master snake, right now there is no papaya fruit, but when I get to the top, the fruit will have grown ripe,” said the snail.
The snail continued on his journey to the top of the tree. The cruel words of the snake made him more determined to reach the top of the tree no matter how long it took.
Until at last, spring came, the flowers on the papaya tree turned into an almost ripe and sweet fruit. The slow snail reached the top and began enjoying the red fruit while the insulting snake watched silently, embarrassed by his words. The snail’s calculations were correct and he arrived right on time for the papaya fruit to be ready to eat. The persistence from the small snail turned out to produce a sweet result.
Lessons To Learn
My friends, the lesson of this story is that persistence and unyielding behavior are admirable qualities. Insults from others may be said, but do not let them break your spirit. Keep working hard and stay focused on your goals. Someday you will succeed in achieving your dreams and you will enjoy sweet rewards just like the little snail.
The slow moving snail did not dislike who he was. He was appreciative of his slow moving body. He could take his time and enjoy the scenery while journeying towards his reward of papayas in the spring. In life you should learn to love yourself and enjoy the journey. Life is full of adventures and travels. Take time to look around and enjoy the little moments life has to offer.
