The Theme:

This week's theme = OVERGROWTH! The photos must have a focus on plant-life taking over the abandoned subject. You all know I'm a nature enthusiast. I'd like to see some images where nature is really taking something back. The abandoned object can be a building, vehicle, product, whatever... the important part is that weeds, vines, moss, ivy, trees, etc are growing on/over/through it. This theme is a bit more specific. Possibly the most changing ASW Contest yet?!

My Thoughts:
I think this week has been my personal favorite yet. I loved the "overgrowth" theme as well as the tons of great entires. I believe there was around 75 entires all together. To be honest, as I write this part of the post, I still am undecided. OK! Decisions have been made. Now then, lets get to this week's winners:

1st Place Winner - 20 SBD: @ablaze

A location that is in the top 5 of my travel bucket list. The Ta Prohm temple in Cambodia. @ablaze takes us there with his entry! The strangler fig roots taking over the centuries old temple is absolutely incredible. Be sure to check his entry out. Thanks for this post, sir!

Second Place goes to crusty-old-car guy and "vehicle" week judge @donvee. I can't believe the plant growth on this old (and rare) VW truck he found. I've never seen so much moss growth on a metal object. Its like they had to have had the bed of the trucked filled with soil or something when it was abandoned. I kinda want to stretch out and relax on it... looks cozy!

When it comes to "overgrowth", this entry by @rameelkarim pretty much jumps out and hits ya right between the eyes. Even from the the little thumbnail, you can tell nature is kicking some serious ass somewhere. Boy, these building will be disappeared in a few more years by the looks of it!

FINAL THOUGHTS
This was a super difficult week to pick winners for. There were some other entires that I liked a LOT, but I tried to keep the "overgrowth" theme in mind. I think the chosen winners' photos really embody that. Again, if you didn't win... don't be discouraged. There will be a lot of these contests with lots of different themes!
