What up my Steemians, welcome to the @D00k13 Digest, this video I answer the questions from @JeronimoRubio about Partiko Points redemption and Curation Trail Benefits plus add in a little bit about witness votes for anyone not familiar with how they work and the necessity of using them!
Man great questions @JermonimoRubio I had to do a video response and yes doing exactly what you did is how to get my attention. I appreciate you brother always love to answer a few questions directly! Out for a walk in the rain today guys, tried to find a trail on the backside of the mountain out of the wind at least. Doing a bunch of laundry today so recording inside was a no go so please don't mind the rain noise for part of the video it was looking dry when we headed out, dang British Columbia weather!
I start off with reading @fitinfun's comment on @JeronimoRubio's post giving her insights to the workings of curation trails to which I agree with her points but add an insight of my own about intention behind joining the curation trail in the first place.
Partiko Points
Fairly simple, it is done when you make a post using the @Partiko mobile app, on the post creation screen you will find a option to redeem points at the bottom. Select the value for points you wish to redeem and it will show you an estimated vote value you will receive. I have not used it yet but I have seen many appreciative thus I assume it works flawlessly, great way for some added visibility and rewards on your Partiko posts!
Curation Trails
I suggest reviewing @fitinfun's comment and the linked post, basically in short if you want to maximize curation rewards you will need to make certain your paying atleast $0.01 and there are following votes after yours(talk to trail manager for details on their timing). You want, IMO, a minimum of 100-200SP on your account for the sake of RC limitations and adjust your following vote according to payout of $0.01. Now I don't discourage joining a trail if your vote is below that value because every vote is added visibility for those being curated but be certain your willing to donate the vote to the trail for the sake of giving support to the authors chosen.
@JeronimoRubio also asked which trails have the best benefit behind joining, now most curation trails are built from a donation of your vote and potential curation rewards in return system like mentioned above. Some trails like I believe @Dcooperation by @clixmoney are support based and have a system of joining the community to receive benefits which for newbies coming to the platform I would highly suggest looking into some community like that over joining a trail that does not offer that benefit!
Witness Votes
These are the people pushing our platform forward with development while also supporting the network we are all using with their witness nodes. We must show our support for those of them that hold the success of our platform above all else by voting for them.
Every person on the platform should be using their witness votes, if you do not have the time or energy to learn about them you can simple proxy vote a witness you support to vote on your behalf. Witness votes are not like post votes, you have 30 and can give or take them away freely to support projects run by witnesses as you so choose. I will not tell you whom to vote for but I will encourage you to do the research yourself, the witness vote screen can be found top right menu bar of Steemit.com about 3/4 of the way down the list.
Again if you can't figure out whom to vote for or why consider proxy voting for a witness, let them use your votes, just be certain it is someone you believe will wield the duty with intention of furthering the platform! This is how you can help shape the future of Steem!

Interesting. And great post, I say interesting in that do people just join Curation Trails that are already formed ??
From my own Manuel Curation Trail I go and do my own. For instance you're on my MAnuel Curation trail now. As well as a number of dtubers and 777 Members,
. But Iam selective in forming that Trail. It's all up to me.I just never thought of having a set Trail that people partake in without ever deciding who should be the recipients on that trail.
That's an interesting concept to me.

Much appreciated my friend, the community trail was how #OneLoveDTube came to be! Started with us all delegating to then be added and also following to support one another as it few we moved towards manual curation of authors but still have our legacy users so now anyone joining is donating their vote essentially to support our curation efforts and hopefully receive rewards.
Combine the power of automation with the benefit of manual selections 💪
