Ask/Answer Questions on Musing.io and Earn Rewards!

in #musings6 years ago

I was recently told by @bozz that he was making some pretty significant additional rewards by answering questions on Musing.io. I was intrigued by the possibility of getting some additional earnings, while also helping people with any questions they may have.

Now, I'm usually not a fan of Steemit platforms that focus on creating very short content, but Musing has made it so questions and answers are categorized as comments, not as posts. That way, they won't clog up your regular blog feed on Steemit.

Asking Questions

Asking question on Musings is very easy, you just press the '+' icon in the top right corner, next to your profile picture and fill in all the details. You really want to ask questions in a way that many people understand them, that will help you get meaningful engagement.

I would also take the time to add a small description, especially if your question is a bit more complex. Adding the appropriate tags helps people to find your question when they're browsing through a particular category.

Take the time to think about your question before posting it, the more interesting your question is, the more chance you have of getting upvotes.

Answering Questions

First of all, I'm going to focus on how to view new questions that haven't been answered yet. This was a little bit unintuitive for me, so I'll show it with a screenshot. You just have to click on 'View All' and all the new unanswered questions will be displayed on top of the list.

Answering questions is a really easy process, you just click 'answer' and you type out your answer. It's common courtesy to also give the question an upvote. It's best to spend a little bit of time on your answers, just writing a single sentence might not really help the person who's asking.

How Are You Rewarded?

Musing.io will upvote questions and answers, some of these upvotes are worth quite a bit. I don't know if they manually curate them or if they select them randomly. I'd put some effort into your questions and answer, regardless of it has an influence on the rewards.

Musing members can also upvote each other, I've seen good questions get a lot of votes of the community. Some questions really have some well-thought-out answers, sometimes having the value of a small article. This really shows that it can pay off to put some thought into your answers.

Conclusion

First of all a big thanks to @bozz for mentioning Musing to me, I think I'm going to spend some time on this platform. I was pretty surprised to see that it was actually pretty popular. New questions pop up all the time and some people seem to be earning pretty good.

I'm a big fan of their user interface, they've kept it very simple and easy to use. You can easily log in with Steemconnect, so that aspect is completely hassle-free as well.

Definitely try it out for yourself, if you have some spare time!

Excellent post
@bozz also got me into musing this week
Going very good for now

The one thing I am finding though is that I sometimes feel like I doing some of the users homework LOL
Seems to be a LOT of repetitive questions on the same topics at the same time

Yeah sometimes you do need to scroll a bit to find any interesting questions. I think it has potential though.

I'm making triple what I make from posts at the moment
Now of course, I'm new so my post amounts SUCK LOL
But it is MUCH easier to answer questions than spend hours crafting an article to post

Huh, I like the concept, particularly the part where it won't overwhelm your feed. I'll take a look.

Thanks for giving me another perspective on this. I had tried it out a while back and didn't really enjoy it. Maybe it is worth going back to see if it is different, I guess the platform should have evolved a fair bit!

Glad that I could point you towards this. I always plan to spend some time on it, but then I get distracted. I really want to make spending 15 minutes a day on musing.io part of my routine.

Yeah I was also thinking of making a habit out of it. Some of the questions are pretty interesting as well. I usually just skip the crap ones :D

Interesting news, I had disregarded this when it started filling up my feed and was just plain annoying. If you think it has legs, I'll take another look.

Every post is now regarded as a comment, so they shouldn't appear in your feed any more ;-)

Well I just found out about this a few minutes ago from someone who commented on my post. I didn't think we can post the replies as a Steemit post too. So cool. I like to answer questions so most probably I'll just go the answer route and not the post to Steemit unless it's pretty long. Haha.
