I want to share this food that we eat for dinner an hour ago. Some might thinking, what was that food? Well I'm gonna share to you what was that Food and how did we cook it. It is so easy, so won't be pressure if you try cooking it at home.

The Rice

Well our rice is not a branded rice or maybe it's a local rice that can be bought in the market. Luckily we belong in the "Working Class".

The Working Class are those minimally educated people who engage in “manual labor” with little or no prestige. Unskilled workers in the class—dishwashers, cashiers, maids, and waitresses—usually are underpaid and have no opportunity for career advancement. They are often called the working poor. Skilled workers in this class—carpenters, plumbers, and electricians—are often called blue collar workers. They may make more money than workers in the middle class—secretaries, teachers, and computer technicians; however, their jobs are usually more physically taxing, and in some cases quite dangerous. Tap this Link to see the Types of Social Classes of People

So our rice is a NFA rice. To put it in an indirect way, the antonym of “NFA rice” could well be called premium rice or commercial rice. Bluntly speaking, it’s “cheap” rice. Some NFA rice are good, but some are smells something. But well we eat it as long as we can eat 3x a day. That would be enough. :)

How do we cook our rice?

This photos are taken at home while I'm cooking the Rice a while ago.

1.jpg

  • First, make some fire to start cooking your rice. As you can see, we use woods and a dry shell of coconut to cook our food. Some says "it's better to cook a rice using woods rather than using Modern Technology". I would agree to that. :D

2.jpg

  • We clean up the Stainless Pot that we're going to use in cooking the rice. In our country, Stainless Pots are called "Kaldero".

3.jpg

  • Put the rice in the "Kaldero". You'll see some yellow spots in the rice, well thats the food for the "Working class". But sometimes we can also afford premium rice. But right now, we need to deal with it. :D

4.jpg

6.jpg

  • Wash the rice and drain.

7.jpg

8.jpg

  • After washing and draining the rice, put some amount of water and measure it. Well you see, I use hand to measure the amount of water. That's how "PRO" we are. Lols xD

  • Heat it up and wait for at least 10 - 15 minutes.

1.3.jpg

  • If it boils, remove the fire and let the heat finish the cooking :D

And that's how we cook our rice!

Next, The Dish

Small Dried fish with Tomatoes and Cocumber

  • Ingredients

    • Small Dried Fish

      14.jpg

    • Cucumber

      12.jpg

    • Ginger, Onion and Tomatoes

      15.jpg

  • Soy Sauce, Lemon(calamansi), Vinegar and a little Seasonings.

    28.jpg

Cooking the Small Dried Fish

In our place, this type of cooking called "Sinangag na bulad or Fried Fish"

Heat up a Pan.

20.jpg

Put a little oil in the Pan. Make sure it is heated up. Then heat up the oil.

21.jpg

If you see some smoke in the Pan, remove the Pan in the fire and put the Small dried fish and mix for 15 secs.

23.jpg

After mixing it up for 15 secs, put the small dried fish into the strainer to remove some excess oil.

24.jpg

After that put the small dried fish into the the container where the other ingredients is in.

I don't have a photo of the tomatoes, ginger and onions being cut. But well cut the tomatoes just normal cuts. Make the onions and ginger into tiny bits. And put it up into the container.

25.jpg

26.jpg

Lastly, put the lemon(calamansi) and seasonings. Make sure to put the right amount of seasonings or it will taste bad.

30.jpg

31.jpg

32.jpg

Mix! Mix! Mix! until all the seasonings penetrate.

33.jpg

34.jpg

And we're done! You can now eat a food that made in our place :D Hope you'll like this one. This is my first time to blog a food so any advice and suggestions would be very helpful to me. Itadakimasu!

I used to be able to do the hand measure of the water but not anymore lol.

If I dont have the fish what else can I put in? Im vegetarian :)

Just remove the fish and use the rest of the ingredients. Don't also put a seasonings and a salt.

Like this one:

  • Cucumber
  • Ginger and Onions
  • Soy sauce and Vinegar

Mix it all and put a desired amount of sugar(not to many sugar) or 1 teaspoon full.
and Mix again. :) Hope you'll like the taste madam @bearone! :)

Note: Do not put salt and seasonings. It will make the taste bad.
