Green days by the river, a novel written by Michael Anthony and a film directed by Michael Mooleedhar. 100% Caribbean, both writer and Director, hail from the beautiful twin island of Trinidad and Tobago. This is certainly one of the best film coming from the Caribbean, its 100% authentically West Indians (another word we used 'Caribbean'). Michael Anthony is a well known Caribbean author, writing several masterpiece including Green Days by the River, The Year in San Fernando, Cricket in the Road, etc. Michael Mooleedhar is young award winning Trinidadian Director and Producer, whose work includes music videos, films and documentary. He is certainly one of the best Director and Producer in the Caribbean.

Green days by the river captures the life of a teenage boy growing up in the remote village of Mayaro in 1950s. The Director depicts the life of the teenage boy as told in novel. Shell, the main actor, is caught in a love triangle as he pursues the affections of two girls. Shell works on Mr Gidharee’s plantation, in hopes of attracting his daughter Rosalie, but soon falls for Joan, a sweetheart, adorable and beautiful town girl. Shell learns some of the difficult lessons that will shape him forever. His father isn't around to offer any guidance due to his sickness and Shell must navigate these challenges on his own.
