From My Lemon Tree
A little lemon of my Eureka lemon tree. I think I have about 4 lemons on my little tree and this one is on the very top of the tree. It is not time for this lemon yet, but it seems to be going in the right direction and in its time it will be big and of a yellowish color, God willing.
In spring I sure did have a lot of blossoms and now only 4 lemons are hanging in there. Isn't that like in life?
I remember going to a certain class in a local community college decades ago. Well, I'm pretty old now. Well, anyway the class was so full in the beginning and then..., and then the class seemed pretty empty as class was ending its semester.
It is like a lot of people starting something exciting, but with the excitement does come commitment and hard work. That is when people start to fall away.
It is like all the blossoms on my lemon tree, but only so many of those will have a fruit, but then all that counts is the fruit that reaches its end where the master gets to experience such a fruit.
In my lemon tree I even seen a start of a lemon, but it was all shriveled up. It happens, just because the fruit starts out doesn't mean that it will make it to the end.
The fruit will have to survive the strong winds that come and the hard rays of the sun. There are many conditions that the fruit will have to go through to get to the end of its journey and yes, some will not make it.
That reminds me of people that will strive to make it in on the strait and narrow. As it is written, with Jesus speaking, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Luke 13:24.
So it sounds like many won't make it in, but still we must strive to do such a thing for the other option will be undesirable. This is were Jesus talks about the wailing and gnashing of teeth, as it is written, And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:42.
That is why we have to run the race that is set before us, as it is written, Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1.
If you have not started your race yet, then you can still repent, accept Jesus and do the will of the Father. For the Father does look for the fruit of the spirit in us. As it is written, with Jesus speaking, Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. John 15:2. Of course we will have to be in Jesus to even be such a branch that may bare fruit.
Let's get back to my Eureka lemon tree. I will look forward to its fruit, God willing.
Let's end with some scripture, as it is written, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.
